Unfortunately, as of today (30.11.2024), the Run In Background mod no longer works with version 0.3. Additionally, this feature has now been integrated directly into the game’s settings, so the mod is no longer necessary. For anyone looking to use it, you can now find an official background setting option within the game. Thanks to the modder for all their hard work!
Had the same issue, go to the settings (game settings) it's actually in the game officially now. (Unless it's part of the mod still since I have it installed)

I have a feeling some users are not copying all the folders contained in the ZIP file (you cannot just move the .dll into the plugins folder like most mods, you need to copy this mod's folder structure as indicated in the instructions.) I am going to post a screenshot below to illustrate the correct method:

Note that the RunInBackgroundMod.dll MUST be nested within the dragonnull64/RunInBackGround folders. (So, after opening the ZIP file, drag the "dragonnull64" folder into the BepInEx/plugins folder.) [The first folder in the ZIP file is "BepInEx", double click on it to get to the "plugins" folder, again double click on that to get to the "dragonnull64" folder. THAT is the folder you need to copy.]
The mod should work properly if you copy the folders as shown above. No other steps or setup are required.

I use Ctrl + Tab to tab away and use my internet browser to type this while I'm watching my re-stockers busy themselves with the massive pile of boxes I dumped on the street, haha...
Definitely still moving and not paused. I'd recommend double-checking your install paths and ensuring you're using a supported un-focus method (such as Ctrl + Tab to focus on another window). Escape doesn't work and will still pause the game. ❤
Found the issue. It was user error. I kept hitting ESC and thinking it'd still be working. LOOL I hit ALT+Tab and now it's working. -_- Just me being a dumb.
I cant get it to work to save my life. when i tab out everything is paused. The sound is on though ( i can hear the birds chirping) but all the npc's are paused in place. I dont know what to do. I have the mod installed properly. I've never had the original melonloader so that is not a possibility.

Seems good for me! No issues noticed upon first use.
Tested 9/1/24. Latest game version V0.2.1.1 in the bottom right corner upon launch.
