    🕹️ Game Shop – Version 0.6 Released!

    Hi everyone!
First of all, thanks for your patience!
The past week has been pretty busy for me on a personal level, and there’s still quite a bit I need to take care of – so updates might come a little slower for now.

But as you can see: Version 0.6 is finally here, and once again there’s a bunch of new games waiting to be discovered!
The focus this time is mainly on SEGA, with a little something for Nintendo fans as well.
Oh, and almost forgot – the first accessory pack is included as well!
Thanks again for all your support, feedback, and suggestions – hope you enjoy the new content and have fun expanding your retro game empire! 😊
And just a small note at the end: there are now almost 350 games included in the mod – and the list keeps growing!

    💡 What’s planned next?
Here’s a quick look at what’s currently planned for upcoming updates:

    • 📀 Atari Jaguar support
    • 📺 More Intellivision content (yes, that’s how it’s spelled 😉)
    • 🧰 Additional accessories – more unique add-ons and retro gadgets for your shelves
Also, I might adjust the overall pricing again – especially license costs might go down a bit. I’ll need to do some more balancing tests to make sure everything feels right as the game progresses.

    As always:
no promises – plans might change depending on time, ideas, or what works best in-game. But that’s the general direction I’m heading in!

By the way, someone recently asked me if all this content might be getting “too much” – and honestly, yeah… it’s a lot! 😄
But that’s exactly the idea: there are many different ways to play.

Maybe you don’t care about SEGA and just stick with Nintendo. Maybe you create your own challenge by trying to fill every shelf to the max. Maybe you only sell the games you actually played as a kid. Or maybe you put just one of each game in your store and keep it minimal.
That’s the beauty of it – there’s no “right” way to run your retro shop. You play the way you want.

✉️ If you have any suggestions, wishes, or feedback – feel free to drop a comment!
I read everything and always try to include what fits the style and spirit of the mod.

There already is a mod that does exactly this called Retro Game Store.

Yes, I’m aware that a similar mod called Retro Game Store already exists — in fact, I even mention it in the description as one of the inspirations for my own mod.
However, there are and will be some key differences.
My mod is planned as a standalone version with more refined balancing. I'm also trying to include lesser-known video games — especially titles from cartridge-based consoles from the 70s and 80s, such as the Atari 2600, Intellivision, ColecoVision, and Vectrex.
Another focus is to keep profit margins more realistic, so players don’t earn money too quickly. I'm also working on making the cover art and box dimensions more authentic and true to the original packaging styles.
Additionally, I try to avoid using games that are already present in other mods, to keep things fresh and compatible. And of course, mods like these can be used together — the more variety, the better, right? 😊
Thanks again for your feedback and for pointing it out!
