JONX ESSENTIALS (STABLE EDITION)
The Original "Jonx Essentials" has been removed from Nexus due to Stability Issues and Poor Performance
Background:
The original Jonx Essentials mod added various modifications to Supermarket Simulator. This included a portable tablet, ad campaigns, and an employee manager that added additional workers. These additions were extremely unstable and breaking other popular mods as well as draining performance on lower-end PCs. I have made the hard decision to discontinue that mod. I thank everyone for your support during its lifecycle and want to extend my deepest apologies for the instability of these features. If you want the old mod, read the disclaimer at the bottom of the page! The old mod is still available for download, but I will not be supporting it for the foreseeable future!
What is in the Stable Version?
- Crouching: Press CTRL to Crouch
- Box Turning: Use Mouse Scroll-Wheel to Rotate Boxes while Carrying
- Mouse Smoothing: Overall Enhances Mouse Movement
What has been removed and Why?
- Computer2Go Tablet: Performance Issues and Mod Incompatibilities.
- Advertising Campaigns: Performance Issues and Mod Incompatibilities.
- Additional Employees: Performance Issues and Mod Incompatibilities.
- Enhanced Store Status: Opening/Closing doors will come to the official game eventually, already confirmed.
- Leaning, Head Bobbing, and 24-Hour Time: Felt these features were not popular or needed.
Why Should I download this Mod?
If you were a user that became accustomed to Crouching, Mouse Smoothing, and Box Turning, this will provide you with all three of those experiences in a very stable format. Currently, these features should not conflict with any other mod you may be using. This "Stable Version" truly is remaining on Nexus to provide players with these core features without losing the entire mod due to instability.
The Future of Jonx Essentials:
I will not be adding features to this mod in the future, it will stay with these 3 features. Going into the future, if I have another mod, I will be releasing it stand-alone. Therefore, this stable edition will only host these "stable features" that use to be part of the original Jonx Essentials Mod. I feel like these features are extremely stable and I will be able to maintain them in the future.
Final Thoughts:
Lastly, I know some users will be disappointed in my decision to stop supporting the original mod. I hope you all understand why stability is important to the game, especially while it's in early access. Overtime, I hope some of these features make a return to the modding scene and that I've left a positive impression during the lifecycle of the original mod. If you are disappointed, you are not alone. I am also disappointed that I was unable to stabilize the original mod. This has been an extremely difficult decision and I hope that being open and honest with the public shows my dedication to this game and the community!
Installation:
- Install Tobey's BepInEx x MelonLoader Pack for Supermarket Simulator
- Unpack "JonxEssentialsStable.dll" into the "Supermarket Simulator\MLLoader\Mods" Folder.
DISCLAIMER
I will not be adding a Tablet, Advertising Campaign or Additional Workers for the foreseeable future! If another developer wants to attempt these features, please do so! I have attempted to add these features in the original Jonx Essentials and was unsuccessful at keeping it stable! I have handed the original source code to other developers if they wish to attempt them again.
PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO RE-ADD THESE FEATURES
If you don't care about instability and just wish to use the old mod with all the features, the last Jonx Essentials Download (Version 1.1.4.) is available to download under the "Old Files" section. I will not be supporting this mod in the future and if something is broken due to its instability, I will not attempt to fix it in the future. However, it's only fair that I leave the original file online for people to use and download if they desire to have those additional features. The original mod works a little differently and you can customize which features are enabled / disabled using the JonxEssentials.cfg that must be installed in the UserData folder.
