    To all wondering..

This mod employs a daily(IRL day, not in-game day) backup system.  The result is that you end up with one backup file per day no matter how many times you click the Backup! button between 12:00:01 and 12:00:00 of your IRL day.  In other words, you overwrite your daily backup file each time you click the Backup! button, up until midnight of your IRL day.  At midnight that daily backup file stops being overwritten and becomes the final backup file for that day, and a new daily backup file is created which is then overwritten each time you click Backup! until midnight of that new day, then wash rinse repeat on and on and on.

So, if you're looking for a backup system that creates an individual backup file each and every time you click the Backup! button like I was, this mod isn't for you.  In other words, if you know you're about to head into a deadly situation in the game and want to make a backup before heading into it, it's still best to head into Windows Explorer and create your own backup manually the old-fashioned way.

      RABooey, that's news to me!

I am sorry but you are incorrect. MY application is a tool to create MANUAL backups. I have no idea how you came to the conclusion that my application does automatic backups. I would never have an application I've developed do something that the user is unaware of, or does not list in the description of the application.

This utility is a "Portable" executable, which means it installs NOTHING on the users' system. In-order for a utility to run automatically at a given time, it would require administrative rights on the computer to schedule a task, as well as script to run. As previously mentioned, my utility does not do any of that. All of the code/resources (such as the logo) is compiled WITHIN the application itself. Meaning; if a user does not hit the "Backup!" button, no backup will be made. The only thing my application saves to your computer, is the user's inputted desired destination location and the game's directory location, which is saved to your "C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Temp" directory every time you hit the "Backup!" button.

I am a little bit concerned/curious how you came to this discovery/conclusion. Please message me on the forums if you would be so kind so I can figure out what you're experiencing.

      Kind Regards,
      Zer0

I think I see what's happening here.  The backup file is created manually, and the filename is coded with today's date.  If I backup again today, the new file will have exactly the same name with today's date, thus overwriting the previous backup file from today.  If I want multiple backups on the same day, I'd need to go to the file and rename the old backup before creating a new one.

For me, once a day is probably enough backup to insure against crashes that result in corrupted and unrecoverable saves (a problem I had commonly with the original Subnautica).  For this purpose, I find this tool very convenient.

      PinkyQR,

You are absolutely correct. Honestly, at the time that I wrote that part of the application, I was unsure what the best course of action would be to handle the saves if done multiple times a day. Now looking back on it, I know what I'd do now, and I may update it to reflect what I realize in hindsight.

Thanks for this compact backup tool! Now when the game has a CrashOveride I don't have to worry about my save being corrupted. ;)
