Do not use this mod to extend your hotbar unless you are ok with being forced to set up the hotbar in a specific order.
This mod is not programmed to accommodate using deployables in the extra slots. If you do use a deployable in the added slots it will bug your player model to think that it is still holding the item and you can not switch to a different quick slot. You are forced to restart your game to fix this.
Also it has been over 3 year since this mod has been updated. Do not expect a fix for that anytime soon.
I cannot endorse anyone use this mod. There are some serious QoL updates needed. Use at your own discretion.
You're right, I lost some posters trying to place them from the extended numbers. Didn't think about only using the vanilla slots until it was too late. The mod works but you need to be careful with usable/deployable items. Also lost a gravity trap this way.

This is Beyond frustrating and Sadly I loved this mod.
However, the bug breaks the game causing a cascading effect that fry the save and loads the glitch is not always immediate giving false hope to users.
The Deployment Bug makes the mod Unuseable

To the poor users who have already downloaded and used this Mod I'm sorry to say you will need to remove it AND delete any previous save file that was played while this was active.
Actually, I hit this issue and was able to fix it. Here's what I did (not sure if every step was necessary):
1. Removed all "extra binds" for tools on the hotbar past 1-5. Basically I just opened the inventory, selected one tool (e.g. flashlight), and then hit the 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, -, and = keys (to bind it to each "extra" slot, thereby removing other items), and then the 1 key (to bind it to a regular slot). This ensures that nothing is bound to the extra slots. 2. Saved and closed the game. 3. Removed the mod. 4. Started the game up again, and everything was working again.
The only downside is that the beacon I was deploying (from slot 9, which is what originally got me stuck) ended up disappearing. But not a big deal at all; way better than losing my entire save.
Then I just switched over to Quickslotsplus_BZ, as mentioned by others, which works fine.
So sad this mod is broken. I used its predecessor for subautica and was quite satisfied. But with this mod not being able to deploy items but instead trap the character in an animation, it is simply game breaking.
At least Quickslotsplus_BZ provides a good alternative mod.
For those that care, the other quickslot mod, Quickslotsplus_BZ seems to work fine. I've tested the seatruck bug and deploying bug with quickslots past 6 and up and at a quick glance they worked fine. I don't like suggesting another mod in the comments of a mod but until this one is fixed, that's a solution.
how did you get it to work? I can't seem to get it to work at all whereas this mod at least shows up. I've deployed and everything in vortex ofc but there's also nothing in the config json that would suggest changes need to be made on my end.

Super easy fix. Quickslotsplus_BZ has a bug with the install pathing. It will default to install to SubnauticaZero/QMods/QMods/QuickSlotsPlus_BZ.
You can either deploy it and then manually fix the file structure so it's not nested twice, or you can modify the mod directly - right-click the (uninstalled) mod in Vortex and hit 'show in File Manager'. You'll see the file structure, just drag the QuickSlotsPlus_BZ up one level and delete the redundant QMods folder. When you deploy it it will work properly.
This mod still works but with the What the Dock update, there's a bug where you have to reload your save whenever you try to deploy, for example, a container used from one of the additional slots. Also, when holding a tool slotted in an additional slot and then boarding the seatruck, that also gets you stuck and you need to load a save.
I'm getting the same issue. I have to keep switching deployable/edible/throwable items to the default 5 slots. On the other hand, I did upgrade my slots to 20 (what can i say? bug made me go psycho for a little bit ^_^).
+1 Got stuck in the seatruck about a dozen times now just since installing it yesterday. It also seems to cause the seatruck to get stuck while docking and I had to blow it up with the console to get rid of it and return use of the dock.
This mod doesn't work. Tried versions 2.2, 2.1 and 2.0, no difference. Be advised to not waste your time with this unless updated again. The slots do show in the screen but it's not possible to set items to new slots and therefore it's not possible to use those slots.
