Or maybe just don't kill anything. It's super easy to survive on plant-like food. The world feeling empty after you slaughtered a bunch of fishes is the consequences of your greedy actions, and the game is teaching you that.
There is no physical way a single human can eat, let alone kill an entire massive area's worth of fish. Get your veganisms out of here. The people in the game are eating meat to survive, it's nothing like IRL.
And lest we even talk about roadkills, cause sitting there and dodging every single fish is not only some annoying gameplay, it's also extremely slow to get from the points you need to go to.
I really hope we get an update to this mod for BepInEx support? Without this mod I have to be extra careful not to accidentally roadkill fish and cause them to deplete that way.
Is there any chance we can get a basic configuration menu for the mod in game with features like selecting which creatures will and will not re spawn and setting the timers. I agree I am not a huge fan of shadow leviathans re spawning near my crystal cave base but on the other hand I do like to see normal fish and stuff repopulate... I know you can do this in the config file but it would be nice to have a full set of options in the mod menu.
Sorry for beeing late to the party, but i have a question. Mod works fine, i did as you suggested below when coupling this mod with the Extinct mod. Start game with only extinct mod, get to drop pod, save and restart game with both mod active. works like a charm with no squid sharks at all entire game. However.. is it possible to start in a way so map starts with squid sharks active and when you kill them they DON't respawn after 5 min? afaik if a player kills a leviathan they dont respawn, but squid sharks dont count as a "real" leviathan in the game.
What do you mean by "initially"? Do you mean that the first time we run the game with 'Manage Creature Spawns' installed we should have 'Respawning Creatures' disabled? And then we can save, exit and restart the game with both mods enabled?
Yes. Have this mod "respawning creatures" disabled for the tutorial/ intro, while manage creatures spawns is active. the save exit and have both active.
Is there any chance that we'll get a version of this mod that allows us to change the spawn times of the creatures?
Having re-spawnable creatures is awesome, but having large predators that you've killed re-spawn after only 20 minutes can be very frustrating. I think it would be much better if they would stay dead for at least 2 hours or so.
If individual re-spawn timers aren't possible, could we get at least a global one?
Did you make sure to set that value while the game was closed? You need the game closed so that when it re-opens it will load the settings file with the newer value
