    I know this is unlikely
But I wonder if you [or someone] can make a mod that slowly sinks the character?

This would be the Standard Diving Dress, and allow the character to walk on the ocean floor like a prawn suit, with the ability to use a air bladder to go upward, but without the bladder one sinks down again.

This would be the perfect mod for diving. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1S3XuCs19k

I like to look down about 45 degrees when swimming forward to view the area. If I do not press up I go down. If I press up I go up. I must tap up to maintain height allowing me to swim forward and view the area below.

I installed this mod and set assent and decent to 0.5. This lets the player move forward or back and view above or below at a constant height holding swim up or swim down instead of tapping swim up and swim down. This is also the same when using the sea glide.

Sure thing, I've updated the code.
New file version 1.2 should be available any moment.

Would it be possible to have a factor that is dependent upon depth? Near the surface you want to ascend slowly, but deep there is no need to slow down. Even better if you can factor it based on how close the N2 depth is to your current depth. I would guess that at 300 meters there is no need to slow down. And the slowness should increase as the depth decreases.

It's very possible, I would just have to figure out your blood nitrogen content at current depth and ascent speed.
      I'll look into it :)
