So... I also have the same issue with the Odyssey being stuck on the moonpool, except I am not in VR mode.
Another issue is that, if I ever successfully move Odyssey out of the moonpool, one of the power cells disappears. Each time the sub moves out of the moonpool, it loses one power cell.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll see if I can't figure something out.
For now, you'll probably want to avoid docking the Odyssey in the Moonpool. I know this leaves it vulnerable to creature attacks. You can try the stealth module upgrade, which should help prevent creature attacks.
It's a fun mod, but for some reason, it spontaneously loses power cells. I'll come back after being off doing something else only to discover it doesn't work. I look at the rear of the ship, and all the power cells are missing. What the hell?
edit: Only thing I can think of is that the shark can nip them out like taking cameras from the scanner module. I'd say that isn't supposed to work that way, but I've had leeches latch on to me while in the seamoth, so who knows?
The comment just before yours mentioned they sometimes lose batteries when undocking from the moonpool. I really can't guess why that would be happening, but I don't have any leads on the issue. Can you add any extra details?
For example:
is it after save and reload?
are the batteries there but just invisible? (you can still touch them?)
does it always happen if you go ~500 meters away and then come back? (try the "warpforward" command)
I park near the base, so it's beside the moonpool. That could be it. I run long playthroughs, but I save often, so hard to call. As for being invisible, I tried to swap one out, and all I'm presented with is the X command. There's no other batteries in the sequence. I've never used the warpforward command, and don't know about the 500m trick. I can give that a try.
edit: I had two missing batteries before. I just loaded up my playthrough for the first time today, and now I'm down to one battery. I drove over 500m from base and back. No change. Still one battery.
Edit the second :) : I saved the game and quit to the main menu. Still one battery. I quit the game entirely and reloaded. Still one battery. Don't know what to tell you. Maybe it's a timing thing? Maybe it doesn't trigger if you're down to one battery?
Are you using the latest version of the game from Steam?
Do you have the BepInEx pack up to date?
Do you have Nautilus up to date?
Do you have Vehicle Framework up to date?
If so, then it should be working. If you have everything up to date and it still isn't working, do you have other mods that are working? It could be an installation issue.
This isn't working for me and I have all dependencies installed and up to date. I should mention all your other vehicles work. This one and the r5 do not, at all. They dont appear in config manager's VehicleFramework section or in the vehicle bay.
It was an incompatibility with another mod (I have 74). Specifically, the "Vanilla expanded" mod causes the recipe to disappear from the game and the vehicle to not appear in the vehicle bay. Now working as intended, once I disabled Vanilla Expanded. I now have 73 mods active, including all your vehicles. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!!
What VehicleFramework upgrades are compatible with Odyssey? I already checked the VF arms (red outline around the slot) and Drone Range Upgrade (messsage saying it won't have an effect). Speed Booster, Ion Defense, Depth and Solar/Thermal Chargers seems to work.
If you get Config Manager, you can add arm slots to the Odyssey. Most upgrades should work. Sonar, Crabsquid Protection, and Stealth are a few you didn't mention.
I'd love to be able to switch to Cyclops-like driving and see the rear-right spotlight working (there are some other items, but they are less significant)
Absolutely love this thing. The few complaints I have are below. #1 The opening animation on the storage is very slow and especially annoying to look through multiple in a row. Could this either be shortened or played in the background while the PDA is instantly opened the moment you click? #2 Easycraft does not work with the fabricator or storage it seems. I imagine this is not a solvable problem however. #3 Turn speed is painfully slow. Maybe a small increase or even make a new module that increases turn speed?
I really love the Odyssey. For me it is one of those vehicles that should have been in vanilla Subnautica!
I have some requests/ideas:
A spotlight on top and a lit hatch would be really nice (looking at you Deathrun with max murky water!)
An arm for grabbing - I don't know if this exists, but there's a drill and scanner arm, but no grabbing arm. Would be nice to have one for the Odyssey :)

Cheers!
I think a grabber arm is definitely on the menu 😎
I'll see what I can do about some more lights, too, but be patient with me 😄
