About this mod

A mod I made using real world chemistry that utilizes lithium in its crafting. Also features custom made textures and customizable power options.

I noticed a surprising lack of the utilization of lithium in batteries in this game.
After a few hours of research into real world battery chemistries, I determined that given the resources available in game, a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery would be quite possible.

After figuring out the resources required. It was time to balance them properly. I wanted to have a little fun and make it realistic,
which involved a fair bit of maths that I wasn't skilled in. Many, many thanks to Icositetrachoron#8227 in the Subnautica modding Discord for helping with these calculations.

Here's a link to the spreadsheet of their calculations, for those who are interested: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kGyCyehBGx_xfcoYxHPG9KLLTmM8PYS3Rvnw4VMmZ0w/edit?usp=sharing

You will need to discover blood oil to unlock the ingredients, the battery, and the power cell.
There are three parts to crafting this battery:
The cathode, which is the positive end of the battery.
The anode, which is the negative end, and receives electrons.
And the electrolyte, which is what makes the battery chooch (somewhat. It's complicated).

Ingredients:
Cathode:
2 Gas Pods. These are needed as a source of phosphorus for the LiFePO4.
2 Lithium, this should be self explanatory.
1 magnetite, for the iron.

Anode:
1 diamond as a source of carbon. (graphite, specifically)
1 lithium.

Electrolyte:
1 benzene, as a source of both carbon and hydrogen.
1 hydrochloric acid. More hydrogen, and the chlorine is used for Lithium Perchlorate.
1 lithium.

The battery itself:
1 cathode.
1 anode.
1 electrolyte.
1 copper.
1 silicone rubber.
1 titanium to act as the battery casing.

Total raw materials for 1 battery:
4 lithium
2 gas pods
1 magnetite
1 diamond
1 benzene
1 hydrochloric acid
1 copper
1 silicone rubber
1 titanium

The Power Cell:
2 LiFePO4 batteries.
1 silicone rubber
1 copper

There are 6 levels of power for the batteries.
I would strongly suggest to set the power level BEFORE crafting any battery, as if changed, WILL NOT APPLY to any battery that is already built.**
These are customizable from the in game options menu, and are as follows (Units are Power Units, whatever those are):
Midrange = 500
Realistic = 750  (default)
Balanced = 1250
Unrealistic = 2000
Absurd = 2500
Wtf = 5000

Default battery is 100, and a default power cell is 200.
Why different values? Because I couldn't pick a value I was happy with, so I made there be multiple options.

** Technically, you can change the power setting of an already crafted battery, but only if you have the defabricator mod as well. You de-craft any existing batteries and power cells to their base components (Anode, Cathode, Electrolyte...) then re-craft them like normal.
