De-Extinction has been ported to Living Large / 2.0!!! The legacy version is still available for download in the "old files" section.
If you still have a problem with fish duplicating/spawning in large numbers: Follow this process to clear the largest CellsCache files. This will not damage your save file but it will reset spawns in small areas. 1. Go to your Savegame folder (...Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slotXXXX). 2. Open the "CellsCache" folder. 3. Sort by file size, descending. 4. Delete the largest `baked-batch-cells` files, especially ones over 900KB in size. 5. Load the save and the area should be cleared.
ECC Library is updated and good to go, now just need this mod to catch up to the update. can we get an info on the update at least? this mod is yet another must have mod that would be a shame to leave it as Legacy only.
Not sure what's happening and what might be the cause, but on a totally new playthrough, the mod worked fine until I caught a small fish from this mod (Triangle Fish), went back to the Lifepod, then cooked the fish and then ate it. Then, the moment I exited the Lifepod, I noticed every single creature vanished! It is like the game decided to wipe out all outcrops, fauna, flora, pickup-able objects, and scannable items! I have never seen this happening before, and I can only presume either this mod or ECC Library are the culprits because the game previously ran just fine without those two mods installed.
I thought of saving, then loading the save to see what will happen, but saving bugged out (took forever!)
I have many other mods installed, so could this be a mod conflict?
Very strange, sounds like the entire world errored out and crashed. This shouldn’t be related to either of my mods because I don’t touch that part of the code at all. A log file could help determine the culprit though.
I sought help on Discord server, and attached a log there. I tried running the game with only ECC Library 2.0 and this mod along with Nautilus, and everything seems to work fine. I assume a mod conflict is the reason why I experienced this behavior. Maybe Increased Resource Spawns (Bepinex) at Subnautica Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)? Maybe another mod, as I have loads of mods installed.
I think, after a lot of trial and error, and as I suspected, Increased Resource Spawns (Bepinex) conflicts with your mod. I have spent a lot of time searching for any mod(s) I installed possibly causing the issue I mentioned in the first comment, and eventually - I hope - was able to find out the conflicting mod. I even tried adding all the creatures and eggs to the blocked list of Increased Resource Spawns, but it seems like it just doesn't like your mod!
There is another error I keep encountering in the log that keeps repeating. It might be related to another mod conflict, but I am still trying to figure out which mod might be causing this to happen. Here is the error:
Thanks for the update. Thanks for all your hard work over a long period of time. I have caught a few small critters and something strange happens when I put them in the Aquarium. All the fish I put in overlap and move the same. This is not a problem in Alien Containment.
Got quite the scare, I don't think there is supposed to be a Gulper in the Safe Shallows, but I stopped by the pod for a quick med kit popped back out and one swam right in front of me. So nice and refreshing to have a scare again after so many years of playing.
Oh I am SO happy to see this return! As much as the eels make some areas much more dangerous this mod added in so much life, making everything so much more fun to explore.
Lee23 posted back on 28 December 2022 - ONE YEAR AGO, that an update to Subnautica 2.0 was "coming soon". A WHOLE YEAR LATER, and NOTHING!
"Coming soon" is 2 or 3 months...MAX!! NOT 365 days later and BUPKIS! It's blatantly obvious that Lee23 has moved on to let this mod die as he has uploaded plentyyyy of other mods, and he even has so much free time that he's giving YouTube interviews now.
Not to mention, the BIG BUG that makes this mod UNPLAYABLE! The Overspawning Bug that will collapse the game with 1000's of extra fish that destroys your framerate...all the way down to single digit FPS. I've been using this mod since January 2021, and here it is 3 years later and he STILL can't fix this bug. I've waited long enough for this to get fixed and updated to 2.0. I'm taking back my endorsement and telling others to do the same and AVOID this mod.
The first thing we see on this mod is the date it was last updated so no need for the warning. Authors make us mods. It's a gift. No author has to do anything more and they are welcome to make us more gifts. Mods are not left to die they are broken by developers. When that happens most people leave the old behind without issue. I make lots of mods and never follow updates. I have modded games and I don't let any of them update.
About your FPS issue. You kept it in your game for 3 years but you don't endorse it and want to rally a boycott? Also your profile is less than a year old? Did you make this profile for hate posting or get banned from Nexus?
Shouting like an angry boar is not "the truth". Even aside the fact that modder doesn't owe you anything, as well as making backups before installing new mods is a good idea if you don't want to get them "wrecked" (who even install major content mods to play them with old saves..?), you two could *at least* check the reason *why* it took so long and what "lazy modder" was doing all this time, namely, gee i dunno, participating in creation of Nautilus, cute tiny library that *all* 2.0 mods use? Not knowing that only proves that you two know jack about subnautica modding community, which reduces value of your precious opinion below zero.
you are? you just made my day. i love this mod and whenever i go back to replaying Subnautica i always comment on mods that haven't received their BepInEx update to keep them relevant and wanted, so to hear you working on it just makes me impatient to get to use it in 2.0. cannot freakin' wait.

Finally, I think am able to enjoy playing the game with your mod installed. Thanks.

Woot! Thank you!
