I like the idea of this, but since using it as a standard in my game. I believe this is the cause of my instant destruction of the plant life. I try to collect creepvine and get 1 for an entire stock regardless of size. I could decimate an entire forest here!
I'm not totally sure what the issue is here since most other items in the shallows still provide the regular amount. For example I can whack away at a coral tube and get plenty of coral sample from it before it's destroyed. (yet to attempt collection on deeper objects.) Perhaps the floating plantlife like creepvine take the damage differently and thus go away in one hit? I'm still a bit baffled honestly.
I did confirm this was the mod causing the instant destruction of creepvine. Having removed it I can now slice away and get several pieces before the vine is destroyed. So just a heads up to anyone else downloading this from the start of the game, you may want to wait awhile tell you don't need creepvine so much! Or perhaps another version of this where you can modify the damage as other commenters are saying.
Is it possible to add in lines for the unavailable Hardened Knife(diamondblade)? For those who have added it back in through one way or another. Would be nice to be able to make an alternative to the thermoblade that trades its cooking utility for more damage.
Hi sorry for late response. I don't check here often. I have BZ but don't plan to play until the finish. Don't like getting spoiled before playing a complete game. Sorry about that but it should be simple enough any modder should be able to copy :)
I made the new one for Below Zero here where you can customize range, damage for either Knife separately https://www.nexusmods.com/subnauticabelowzero/mods/175/
I like the idea of increasing the stats, but I wish there were either a version with less range and damage or had the ability to tweak them ourselves.
Also, I'm curious, why would we need the thermoblade to not be OP with damage? I played through once with no mods and I did not notice anything special about it.
Hi sorry I don't check here often. It has been so long since I made this I don't even remember the tools to make mod for this game lol. Maybe when I come back when BZ is finished, I will make 3 separated version.
The reason is, with the knife your damage is too high so when you harvest your stuff (i.e the seaweed thing), it take 1 hit to destroy all of it. You should use thermal blade to harvest so you can harvest more.

IIRC, modding code for this game is compiled into a .NET DLL file so unfortunately you can't really edit it as a text file. But if you know a bit about .NET, you can use any Reflection app to view my mod DLL file and make a similar mod. It should be simple enough if you understand a bit about the code. Sorry I don't have any modding tool on my PC right now anymore. Will come back when BZ is released.

I am extremely thankful for this mod. This knife gave me the courage to actually delve into the depths and not be a baby sticking to the shallows. Even with my screeches of terror and flailing attacks, I have officially completed the game now!
