Hey, this mod looks really cool, but I have a question, is it normal for some creatures like the Reaper, Reefback, Peeper, Gasopods, and some plants to be glowing weirdly?
Glowing? It sounds like you might not have moved all of the texture files over you need texture replacer mod for that part to work. The folder labeled texture replacer should have an assets folder and all .png files need to be moved into that corresponding folder
I've never seen anything like that. So first double check that you have the necessary json files in the bepinex/config/texturereplacer folder. When you download the nightmare mod you will see folders with similar names you just drag them over into the corresponding folders with same names. Next make sure that all .png files are located where they need to be in the bepinex/plugins/texturereplacer/assets folder. I would recommend maybe deleting and reinstalling texture replacer mod in case yours is older. Delete and re-install nautilus as well just in case. Lastly, the nightmare mod uses a custom dark reflection in game mod. While I highly doubt it's responsible for this, try switching over to a different shader if you have shaders installed. There could also be a conflict with another mod. What is your mod list?
I double checked everything: all 83 .json files are in BepInEx\config\TextureReplacer, and all 139 .png files are in BepInEx\plugins\TextureReplacer\Assets. I also reinstalled both Nautilus and the Texture Replacer mod, completely removed ReShade, and disabled a bunch of other mods just to rule things out. For the latest test, the only mods I had loaded were: BepinInEx Tweaks 1.2.1, Blueprints improved UI 1.0.2, Brown Rock Grub Mod 1.0.0, ChangeBiomeFog 1.0.0, Cloudy Sky Mod 1.4.3, Discord RichPresence 0.1.0, EpicStructureLoader 1.0.2, Epic Weather 0.0.8, Fast Loading Screen 2.0.1, File Tree 1.0.1, Nautilus 1.0.0.36, Nightmare Mode 1.0.1, No Epilepsy Warning 3.0.0, Peeper Leviathan Mod 1.0, Quick Unpin Recipes 1.1.0, Subnautica Config Handler 1.0.2, SubnauticaMap 1.5.9, SubnauticaModManager 1.2.2, Terrain Extender 2.0.0, TerrainPatcher 1.2.2, TextureReplacer 1.2.1, Tornade Mod 1.0.0 and Unity Audio Patcher 2.0.3 But despite all that, this weird thing is still happening.
I don't think this kinda issue would even show up on the logs. Have you been over the tutorial video? https://youtu.be/qQtwqYRNlLA?si=l06V5WJgxHTLbz0o it sounds like you've done everything right though. There has to be some sort of mod conflict. Maybe that config handler? Idk you can try removing all other mods. I would say even delete/reinstall subnautica. There could also be some conflicting config files you have from another mod. Try deleting all config files except the ones from my mod first and see if that does anything. Have you had any other texture replacing mods do this?
I reinstalled Subnautica and followed your video step by step to set everything up. I also deleted the Tobey folder in the plugins directory where the Config Handler was, and since I did a fresh install, the older config files are gone. But the issue is still happening. This is the first time I’ve had a texture replacer mod cause this kind of issue. What’s strange is that it’s only affecting a few textures, most of them look completely normal, but a handful have that weird glowing effect.
Actually it should show up in the logs. It looks like the emission textures are missing. You can join my Discord https://discord.gg/N3a8EwpF Or message me on discord Leviathankraken and send me logs
Looks interesting but too many 'other' mods required to get this to work. Plus, having to go to yet ANOTHER website to get one of the required mods is a turn off.
Wait a minute, You're one of the devs of The Red Plague, I Love That mod i installed it Although, i only play it in creative mode so i'm able to beat it in 1-10 minutes. snomlilly you made a good mod.
You mean it won't let you download it? I could maybe send you the file over discord or host it if you would like, but you can't use vortex to install it
I seem to be unable to install it, whenever I install, it reaches the end, but then vortex says that the installation canceled. I have all the mods that it needs, and I've tried manual installing but it just doesn't work for some reason. Actually I think I found my problem, you have to go into the zip and take the folders from it. Nope it doesn't let you do that, so idk now
You can't use vortex to install this one. You'll need to manually extract each file into the corresponding folders that match in your subnautica directory. Don't drag the folders from the zip just the the contents into each folder that matches. Yes you need to unzip the folder first.
Does this mod add new leviathan sounds? Because I keep hearing an extremely loud growl/roar from some very large sounding creature that I CANNOT identify. Even if I'm inside a base when I hear it, it sounds like whatever the source is RIGHT on top of me (and yet, I haven't run into whatever's making the sound). Keeps giving me a serious jumpscare.
Nope, it's not The Red Plague, I finished and un-installed that one before I ever installed this (although I'm sure they go together super well). This is a different sound than any of the jumpscares I encountered in TRP, and I've never tried Spooky Subnautica.
And I've come across the zombie Reapers, they look scary af (great job with the retexture) but they still sound like Reapers, as far as I've seen. The sound I'm talking about is deeper, and lower pitched. It literally causes the screen to shake, and it's just as loud, no matter where I am on the map. I'm not sure what other mod would add a sound like that, but I guess I'll keep looking.
On a different note, fantastic job giving the Shallows a scary makeover, it totally changes the vibe (although I had to get rid of the extra leviathan spawns, it's a bit TOO much to deal with a sea dragon or the silence while I'm just trying to move between bases 😶)
I'm looking forward to any future expansions you might do on this mod/theme!

But the issue is still happening.

But, best of luck with your mod.
