In that case, you might need to update the Crush drone mod. In the Crush's upgrade menu, do you see 2 normal upgrade slots and 2 arm upgrade slots? The arm upgrade slots should have a little hand icon inside them. If you don't see that, you should update the Crush mod.
I think it is behaving as intended? (unless the Scanner Arm should be constantly visible, like the Drill Arm.)
The Scanner Arm is visible on the Drone. But not visible (in the Players view) while piloting - unless there is something to Scan, in which case the Scanner Arm pops up (and scans) when Right Click is held down. - (Edit:) Personally, having played for a while without the SA being visible while piloting, I would find its constant presence restricting in my (previously, less restricted) view.
Ah, I see what you mean. I thought you were saying it was totally invisible, but now I think you just mean that it is out of the field of view. The arm should be in a relaxed position normally, and when you activate the arm it should raise up and the screen should flip open.
I was initially confused as I installed the Drill Arm first, which is visible while piloting (Active). And when I installed the Scanner Arm, it wasn't visible (Relaxed).
But I'm glad to hear it is working as intended, and I prefer the relaxed position, as it leaves much more view space.
- For anyone else wondering, (even when the Scanner Arm is relaxed) if there is something to scan the Hand Scanner image appears in the bottom right as usual, as well as the standard spinning discs in the middle of the screen that you would expect to see if actively holding your normal Scanner.
I think they will still spawn in if you haven't yet visited the places they are. If you have already been there, you can do "unlock scannerarm" or try deleting the cells cache.
Mega-based mod. I genuinely do not know why devs did not port the entire player's kit to PRAWN: Repair Arm, Repulsion Arm, Scanner Arm... Should've been vanilla, all of it.
Why not? You go through all the trouble of acquiring it, and then actually building all the modules for it as well. Maybe acquiring so many unique modules would be a bit grindy, but eh... PRAWN is an amazing idea that just wasn't utilized too well in the game itself. Only 2 vanilla modules worth of investment are grapple arms for crazy mobility and drillers for resource acquisition. Everything else is essentially worthless in practice, while getting out just to scan a single Seaglide fragment for +2 titanium is just tedious, so this one is basically a QoL improvement rather than any sort of balance offender.
Propulsion Arm: should've been able to store items it holds, just like human one does (there's a mod for that). Repulsion Arm: should've been a thing to begin with (there's a mod for that). Torpedo Arms: actually useless since torpedoes miss half the time and do nothing when they do hit. The only practical use i found is feeding stasis'd reapers gasopod acid straight to mouth. Stasis Arm: alright, might be OP and Repulsion Cannons are far more fun anyway. Repair Arm: alright, kinda rudimentary - self repair would be OP, buildings are broken from the inside and repairing cyclops in a constantly sinking and moving PRAWN would be a nightmare. Builder Arm: now THAT... That would be an addition. An Industrial Grade Habitat Builder. Solves the oxygen problem and could have an additional feature of performing its' functions quicker. No more risking suffocation because a building session got a little bit too hot.

Any plans to make work also for a Seamoth ? ^_^
I don't have any such plan right now, but you can get a similar experience out of the cricket or the wraith.
It shares Right Click with Lights On/Off - so when there is something to scan the arm appears and Right Click becomes Scan.
