    i thought you dropped a beacon if you have one in your inventory when you die was in the base game.

      It is in the base game for the sequel, Below Zero, but not for the first game.

    If anyone finds this, just be aware that it requires you to carry a beacon in your inventory. I guess it's realistic.

    But for those who just want easy, free death markers no matter what you're carrying, there's a "better" mod instead:

      No this mod simply drops a beacon from your inventory when you die. If you don't have a beacon in your inventory, you won't get a death waypoint. So no free beacons. Sorry ^^
