Can't wait to see the water surface fix! BTW I'm planning to do a video soon (in a couple weeks) about your mod, which I've been using a fair bit. I'll be comparing it to the Immersive Third Person mod. Any thoughts you'd care to share?
Thanks Mikjaw, what a great starting point - I have a lot of research to do! . Evaluations & Comparisons will be in a friendly manner, we players are lucky to have all modders work! I will deep dive all your points. BTW I've not yet run the other mod, so far I've only used yours, which I enjoy very much (Even when I get lost altering distance . I have some wild clips from my keyboard-chair interface errors there). I'm not sure how I'll like the fixed behavior of the other, at least for my videography. But I'll be looking at it from both perspectives - videography and gameplay. Keep ya posted! And I may have you fact check me once I have a script ready, if that's ok.
I haven't actually used the other one either. I also get lost altering distance, though 😄
I'd be happy to fact check ✅
And it should show up as "ThirdPerson 2.2," and there are a few configurations for controls. Maybe double check you have this and config manager up to date 🤔
I've been using the beluga and I notice the camera pivot isn't in the center like with the cyclops and is a really weird angle in the beluga would it be possible to fix it?
The pivot point is the center of the "root object" of the vehicle. For the Cyclops, that happens to be locally in its middle. For the Beluga, I'm not really sure where that is, and there's not much I can do about it from here.
I recommend this game's community, and I hope they listen to me. Friends, if a new mod is released, please attach the installation guide. I'm new to the game and downloaded it yesterday.
Hi, I think I responded to this comment somewhere else. All I'll say here is that there are many tutorials on how to install mods already. Just search "how to install subnautica mods" on youtube, for example 😄
I don't think the game includes any helmets or masks for Riley's actual head. The swimming mask is just an overlay on the camera. I don't think I'll be adding new meshes to this mod any time soon, but it would be more immersive!
cool, i was also thinking how to use the pda in third person view, and i was thinking could it be possible to size the pda with the screen so you can still use it? if that makes sense
is it possible you could make the activation keys configurable and not use up/down? i hit both buttons in a panic trying to juke a reaper and the last thing i saw was ryley's stupid face :(
i think this mod is really cool but im gonna disable for now since im playing hardcore lol
Hi, thanks for the comment! I've been having some related issues with my own gameplay. I wanted to avoid using Nautilus for this mod (just trying something different), so I didn't make it configurable at first. But I recently learned about the configuration manager mod, and I used it for the first time to add optional configuration support for this mod.
I just uploaded a new version that is compatible with the config manager. I've never used it before, so let me know how you find it! 😄
If you long-press those buttons, instead of just pressing them, you'll go into a "configuration mode," where you can pan around the player and change the zoom level. I think you have to long-press for 0.25 seconds to make that happen. Then you can press the buttons again to choose the zoom level and go back to normal.
Cool mod with which you can shoot beautiful videos or just admire the animation of different things on the back of Seamoth :D But the mod really lacks the ability to rotate the camera in active mode without rotating the vehicle itself (for example Seamoth or PRAWN). It would be possible to add the ability to assign a separate button, after pressing which in active mode, when turning the camera, only the camera would rotate, and the vehicle itself would continue to float in the same direction.
Well, it works. I guess in the Seamoth or Prawn Suit it's actually useful because vehicle center and character head are kind of the same. It gets somewhat less useful in a Cyclops and much less useful in a Beluga, which you show off in one of your screenshots. The camera center is essentially in the sub's nose. Is there a way for you to pick up on whether you're in a vehicle and use that vehicle's bounding box center as the camera's center point (and to set the radius automatically)?

Here are some differences I think the mods have:
Hmm, I hit F5 but I do not see Third Person Mod in the Configuration Manager.

Check out the new update! There's a new mode like you described!
