Since you already modify the drop from scanning already learned things, could you do an optional version, that drops 1 metal salvage instead? Sure this technically gives you more titanium when you process it (vanilla-wise) but it would go great with the mod 'Enhanced Metal Salvage (Nautilus)' that I use that allows you to choose a metal to gain.

Folllowing your suggestion I created another mod: Mades Redo Resources from Scanning You can get not only Metal Salvage but also other resources. Quantities and spawn rates are customizable in the mod menu options. There is also a Subnautica: Below Zero version: Mades Redo Resources from Scanning BZ
I'd suggest going one step further and having a spawn table where you mostly get titanium/copper, but also a much rarer chance for silver, gold, magnetite, diamond, etc.
If Lee were to go that way, I'd rather they use reflection to check the recipe for the given object, and give one or more ingredients for the object. That way, if you scan enough of an object to get the recipe, then keep scanning to get the drops, there's good odds you have enough of whatever resource to actually build one.
