Can you please explain? I installed everything as explained. When I open the ReShader overlay I get a list of about 300 effects and loading up your preset doesn't do anything, no effects are checked and nothing changes. I now just have checked the effects you mentioned in the other comment, but what am I doing wrong?
That's odd. I haven't been on here in a while so it's possible that my preset might be outdated somehow. Could you please check by using someone elses the same way you did mine just incase it is user error on the install?
Thanks man thats awesome. I only have a 1920x1080 monitor so I myself don't even get to see the proper detailed details of the details that my preset enhances.
And if there are any other games that you play that I might have, I would be happy to do them for you. I feel like having an actual reason to do a preset other than just for a hobby could get me into them a little bit more (there are a good amount that I've neglected or haven't finished because I just don't feel like it most of the time, like Hellblade, Farcry 5, Metal Hellsinger, or Dishonored 2 to name a few)
I am girl but anyways :) No, didn't play this games yet, mostly I love survivals or AAA Actions-RPGs. I just wanted to say thank you, cuz even with my computer config without proper preset quality was "meh", your preset brought me real difference and pleasure to play. Btw I also have mod for Subnautica, you can check it out too :) New screenshots made with your preset already, even for map it is great! I will post link to your mod at my mod page Have a nice day ^^
Well I could check tonight if it works with the most recent reshade version. If it doesn't Ill have to redo for an updated one. Ill let u know when I do
For now u could try: .using someone elses preset to see if it works there .If it doesn't work, Does the list of shaders and effects show? .If not, was there a warning error when installing reshade to the game that said "Failed to download list of available effect packages: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel. Proceeding without effect installation ..."? (heck just by reinstalling reshade to ur game again)
.If thats the case it means that It couldnt grab and download the shaders/effects from github and I could show you how to install them manually
Ok, please give me a list of effects because all i see is sharpness, and adding sharpness defeats the whole point of the underwater effect, what are you trying to call perfect here?
I have a shader myself and i get a lot of hate because people dont like it, but im just trying to understand how does this this shader makes the game look better to you, im not trying to hate on your opinions of what is good/perfect, im just trying to understand it.
yeah ofc AdaptiveSharpen.fx AmbientLight.fx CAS.fx Colourfulness.fx Curves.fx DPX.fx Sepia.fx (Tint) those are all that are active for this preset.
I use some to even out others (Sharpen, ambient light, curves, and dpx are the main ones) and I adjust each one accordingly in order to not make the game too dark, too light, or too colourful. And to be honest, having dived myself before, goggles make things soo much clearer irl so I dont think the sharpness is a bad thing at all. Subnautica was a pretty finecky one to reshade with, certain things such as: .night time above sea level being too dark while everything underwater seemed alright. .or fire, aswell as the planets in the sky being too saturated while most plants underwater seemed fine. caused me to have to stick even closer to the original games pallet (more than usual that is) in order to keep things, well, in order. So It might only seem like a slight difference in the screenshots, tbh I might have to reshoot some of the shots and add a few new ones too cause It is a more visible difference in game than what Ive got up for reference
And the whole perfect preset thing is just about having better looking visuals while attempting to keep to the original games pallet/feel, as compared to a more cinematic reshade that usually changes alot from the original game to have an objectively more "realistic" pallet/feel. Didn't mean it to come off as pretentious, soz about that lol
edit: Just checked urs and it seems pretty good, I think the reason why people might not like it is cause of how above water is really bright. Mine couldve ended up pretty similar if I didnt change it so that it wouldnt be so bright up there. and for example, my GTFO preset changes a lot more from the og game than my subnautica one here, subnautica just seems to be more restrictive for reshading ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No idea why people hate on mod creators, even shaders. If you don't like it, don't use it. How difficult is that? Not doing anything and then crapping on someone's work that they're handing out to others to use for free (optionally) is peak trashy personality IMO.
