I like some of what this mod does, like fixing the lights, but I prefer the blue parts on bases that the mod removes, but I couldn't see a way to toggle that individually.
This is really nice. However, I do have one point of feedback after a very short time with the mod:
I noticed that, with the scanner room, the window (as in the glass itself) is very difficult to see from the outside unless you're at an extremely oblique angle to it (the glass is also difficult to see from the inside but I have less issue with this; if I had to choose I would say that I think the glass should be more easily visible from the outside looking in). I think this might be because the window in that room is flat (from what I can tell), whereas most other windows have some degree of convexity to them which seems to allow the glass to be seen (albeit to varying degrees based on the window).
So from the outside of the scanner room looking into the window, it looks like you're just looking directly into the room and not through glass at all. I also noticed similar effects elsewhere - Perhaps this could be revisited in a future update? I also noticed that under some conditions, sometimes it looks like glass just isn't there at all (not just with the scanner room). I took a video of the scanner room and me looking at a few other pieces, here. (Edit: I just checked vanilla and the scanner room window looks pretty much the same; it's hard to tell that there's any glass there at least from the outside looking in).
Also, speaking of the scanner room, I've noticed that the collider for the stairs seems to be messed up. This also seems to happen with stairs in the multipurpose room (and maybe more than that, I've only tested these two). When walking across the stairs, you can get displaced or stuck on them. See a demonstration of this here.
I've also noticed similar behavior in the Cyclops in the lower deck where the floor inclines sharply (this happens in two spots). See here. In the Cyclops, sometimes this bug will cause you to slow down even below walking speed; it's pretty annoying.
Such bugs may exist elsewhere in the game but these are the places I've noticed so far. Would absolutely love to see these fixed, if it's possible.
Thanks for your excellent work on this mod; it's really quite impressive. I hope to see more updates (if you deem them needed)!
All these problems are not related to my mod. This is also present in the original. My mod does not touch these moments and also does not correct these errors of the developers. Thank you.
Is there any way to make the fixed lights (blue in this instance) less blinding? It just feels like the exposure is way over the top, at least installing it for the first time. I'm assuming there is no clear way to do this but that would probably be a very cool feature for the mod, if the lights' brightness could be adjusted.
Other than that, kudos to you for this amazing mod!
This is working great, thanks for your work AlHazard! Added two screenshots, my base before and after. Also, the interior, really brilliant, what a difference!
at first I was conflicted about this because some of the pictures made the glass look worse in my opinion. But, after trying it I will say this is 100% better than vanilla. And I can even make the glass dark like before, so absolutely perfect.
