Nautilus and SMLHelper are incompatible and cause up to and including save corruption when installed together. (Not every time but enough to be worrying) So I have made the decision that any mod of mine that uses Nautilus will not load when SMLHelper is installed.
Also Nautilus is the Replacement for SMLHelper and when Nautilus 1.0.1 releases we will be removing SMLHelper support for 2.0 completely meaning all mod makers need to update their mods to Nautilus.
Way too strong and way too loud. Tried to lower laser damage in the mod's setting but it only made things worse, as the default value (1) is lower than the lowest setting possible (2).
One thing I noticed though and it might just be me, to craft the tech pistol it does not require a battery. Nor does it actually need a battery to be used. I can fire all modes without a battery installed infinately. If a battery is installed and is drained completely it will still continue to be able to fire in all modes. There is no "Press R to change Battery" UI, but pressing R allows swapping batteries.
If this is as intended any chance to get a version that reuires a battery? The tech pistol is pretty strong as is but without the need for a battery it feels almost too overpowered.
Are you playing in either creative or with the noenergy cheat enabled??
Because this very much takes power to use and I have yet to be able to use it without....
I'll try and figure out how your getting this but atm my home internet is down due to not being able to pay the bill so I won't be able to upload a fix till I can get that fixed ...
I'm playing on hardcore. I am pretty sure that the noenergy cheat is not enabled since all the other tools actually drain batteries on use and cease functioning when the battery reaches 0. Even the Tech Pistol will drain a battery if installed until it reaches 0, but it will continue to work as if there is still some charge left or even without a battery installed. There is no percentage of the battery life shown above the quick bar when the tech pistol is equiped and has a battery installed.
i updated the mod from 1.0 to 2.0 and the mod bricked completely for me :( tried removing and getting it again to no avail. is it possible to put 1.0 into optional files?
Is there a way to change the battery cost? I opened the .dll file and tried finding the cost but can't. It would be great if you could add an editor for it.
Seems to have a bug related to spawning. The DeGassi wreck was completely covered in Tech Pistols. As if each possible spawn became guaranteed.
It would also be nice to have two versions, a Vanilla Friendly and a Cheat version. I did not realize this was a cheat weapon when I downloaded it. But the Big/Small ray and the Cannon are absolutely cheat commands. This feels more like a GMod Toolgun than it does a proper in-universe weapon.
So I'm on my way back from the large wreck east of lifepod 12... at night. Got the little seamoth on automatic and it's cruising along when suddenly I hear a huge BANG! and see a Reaper Leviathan completely covering the cockpit windscreen (must have cut the corner of the wreck zone too close). I hit ESC to pause and am considering the real possibility that I'm burnt toast. However, I remembered I had my trusty Tech Pistol (turned up to 11) strapped to my leg like Han Solo and figured.. what the hell... I'm already dead, might as well give it a go. I bailed out of my seamoth, got my bearings and KERZAP!!!... dead reaper. FU mf'r! Time to go home!
Are you able to make a JSON config for the values on the pistol? I understand you can do it from the mod menu in-game, but I'm having a problem resetting the laser dmg value back to 1 on the slider, its stuck at 2 for some reason. In fact, I wouldn't mind making that laser dmg even lower than 1.
