Nautilus and SMLHelper are incompatible and cause up to and including save corruption when installed together.
(Not every time but enough to be worrying)
So I have made the decision that any mod of mine that uses Nautilus will not load when SMLHelper is installed.

Also Nautilus is the Replacement for SMLHelper and when Nautilus 1.0.1 releases we will be removing SMLHelper support for 2.0 completely meaning all mod makers need to update their mods to Nautilus.

Great mod, it should be implemented in Subnautica 2. Feeding the bioreactor is a nuisance.

Is there any way to stop breed into ocean?

    Thanks.

I love the idea of this mod. And for the brief time I was able to play with it, it worked well (didn't get to test the electricity generation yet). Both the placing of overflow fish into the bio-reactor and putting them into the water around the base seemed to work fine. However, I had major lag issues. I was in the middle of writing out a long description of what I tried and what happened. But I realized that was probably too much lol. Basically, I just finished a playthrough with around 28 mods and wanted to do another playthrough with the De-extinction and this mod. Long story short, I tried both at once and ended up having major lag issues, tried disabling one and then the other, tried starting fresh games (creative to speed things up) with only one or the other installed, and tried a few other small things.
Ended up deciding to stick to this mod and created a new game. Things were fine for a while. But once I unlocked the ACU and the fish started to fill up the tank the lag came back for some reason. Decided to give up on this mod (for now) and disabled it, but reinstalling De-extinction. This brings things to the present where I'm halfway through the game. Most of the map is discovered. However, the starting area (pretty much the very center of the map) is a massive issue. Fish won't load sometimes, other times resources won't load. And all of the time there is so much lag that the game stops responding. At first, I waited them out and the game eventually worked again. But the lag was still the same, and it would freeze again. The last few times I attempted to go there (for resources) or accidentally went into the area the game straight up crashes without fail. I have kept playing this save because everything else works perfectly fine except for that death zone.
Sorry for this being so long, I swear I tried to keep it short. Oh, and one last thing. I do not use any other mod that modifies the ACU or creatures (other than the De-extinction mod).

TLDR: I wanted this to work really bad, I tried several things to try and make this mod work with my tried and tested mods (that do not interact with the ACU) and the De-extinction mod. In the end, I had to give up on this mod because of lag and eventual crashes. The current save I am playing I had this installed at first but uninstalled pretty early on. Yet now I have an area in the center of the map (and nowhere else) that causes massive lag and crashes the game. Where everywhere and everything else works fine.

Same. Don't feel bad, though, bug reports are supposed to be detailed. I'm actually glad you brought this up, I think the shallows it's the sand sharks, which seem to respawn and I've been suspecting this one bc of the ocean breeding sliders and what seemed like a massive overpopulation. I even got the laser cannon mod to thin the herd, and it helped somewhat, but I didn't feel like I was making a dent and Reddit said they don't respawn when I googled the leech Metroid/Mynock things to see if my Cyclops would be safe. That place is terrifying so I went to do other stuff for a while. This is hands down the scariest game I've ever played.

I only started playing like a month ago and instantly started modding because I do that, lol. I don't quite know how vanilla worked, as I'd not even seen a Reaper up close, so I haven't even tried the vanilla ACU.

Enabling "POWER GENERATION" gives me 15 fps instead of 60 (1440).

    What is normal breading ?

KyleMHB (or Dreicard) can you share, in private maybe, you version of the better ACU please ?

    And thank you to MisterPurple.
  7. Is there a way to make it so fish don't get released into the open when the tank is full? I now have 4 Ampeels harassing me every time I exit or enter my base.

I adjusted this mod to remove the ocean overflow which I think was causing the lag, please let me know if this works:
    https://github.com/KyleMHB/My-Subnautica-Mods/blob/patch-1/BetterACU/Patches/WaterPark_Patches.cs

It needs to be compiled though.

I really hope the author Mr. Purple implements your solution, as it seems like just disabling the ocean release feature as it currently is doesnt fix or prevent performance issues. I'd love to just have Ampeels passively supply (a very modest amount of) power just chilling in the ACU, enough to keep the lights and oxygen on. The autofeed into bioreactor is nice too. I don't need anything else. I love the ampeels but in terms of space AND time, they aren't as good as Occulus for Bioreactors. I'd love to have reasons to go through the trouble of collecting Ampeel eggs and raising my babies. But it's just not worth causing instability to the game. Thank you for taking the time and effort to try and help out and find solutions.

I apologize for my newbishness, but how would one go about compiling your changes to test them?

how does the "allow normal breeding" setting work?
I've found zero info on it whatsoever.

I have the same problem, but as others have written, turning off the power generation option solves this.

Turning off the power generation did not in fact help...
I dont even have a containment unit right now but this mod singelhandedly brought my GPU from 27% to 100%
      (causing massive amounts of Lag)
Had to disable the mod entirely just to play

I also have had this issue. The only way to have the game be playable, is to disable the mod completely, unfortunately.

It works well dont get me wrong, but enabling power generation makes biomes with ampeels, like the bulb zone, nearly unplayable. Presumably this is because the mod is constantly checking if all the wild ampeels are in an ACU for power generation. Turning this setting on and off while in the bulb zone is night and day, my fps goes from 100 to less than 10! Please try and fix this :P

That's very odd as I only check the creatures in the inventory of the acu...

      Will look into it

I am seeing the same issue as well. If ACU Power Generation is on the game grinds to a halt especially around ampeels (including ACU containment with them). Turning this off fixes the huge FPS drop.
