   So I've figured out how to fix crashing for anybody still playing and modding Stronghold 2! The game exe needs to be made LAA (Large Address Aware) To do this search "4gb Patch"  and download it from ntcore(dot)com. Launch the exe and navigate to E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Stronghold 2 then select Stronghold2.exe, after that your all set and it should also overall reduce crashing for the game in the future. Thank you so much for you awesome work on this upscale mod, was worried Stronghold 2 may not of gotten love from modding since its  an older game but I'm glad to be wrong.

      This is a really strange problem, my friend installing the mod and transferring all the files gets a crash, but if he removes the files to a certain size, the game does not crash.
      And it does not depend on which file, but on the size threshold.
      I have no idea why this is happening

      The mod was created based on the steam edition version of the game. So yes, you can use
