A mod that reduces assets in the background to improve game performance. I've selected which assets to keep so the game remains (as much anyway) visually readable and playable in all variants of the mod
Each tier going forward performs better than the last, so test which one works for you to make the game less "potato-ey" and at the same time achieve max FPS with decent GPU usage
For each configuration I will also mention its % improvement; how much it would help boost performance. All % values are based on FPS improvements from my 'potato' laptop, but still should give you an idea how significant it is. Make sure to pick and activate only ONE pack
Potato Mod Lite Stage Pack
- All moving assets in the background are removed; foliage, NPC's, assets with VFX, and other moving objects
- 15% FPS boost
Potato Mod Lite Stage Pack - Dark 1
- Potato Mod Lite but stage lighting is removed. No character backlights
- Includes CharacterSpotlightFix in the pack, otherwise certain characters wont be lit up properly
- 22% FPS boost
Potato Mod Lite Stage Pack - Dark 2
- Potato Mod Lite but stage lighting also removed. Has character backlights
- Includes CharacterNoSpotlight, to remove front spotlight for each character. If you want to include the spotlight, get the individual stage files
- 22% FPS boost
Potato Mod Stage Pack
- Every asset in the background is removed except floors
- 28% FPS boost
Potato Mod Stage Pack - Dark 1
- Potato Mod but stage lighting is removed. No character backlights
- Includes CharacterSpotlightFix in the pack, otherwise certain characters wont be lit up properly
- 38% FPS boost
Potato Mod Stage Pack - Dark 2
- Potato Mod but stage lighting also removed. Has character backlights
- Includes CharacterNoSpotlight, to remove front spotlight for each character. If you want to include the spotlight, get the individual stage files
- 22% FPS boost
Changing ImageQualityRate in Config.ini
- Changes the render resolution, making the game pixelated. UI Menus unaffected
- 1 is the default value. 0.9 to 0.6 doesn't change much in render resolution
- Game performance improves the lower you go from 0.5 to 0.1
- Do this with any of the mods above to stack the % FPS boost, sometimes may be more than enough to give you max FPS
- Make sure to turn off anti-aliasing in the game's in-game settings, otherwise it will look blurry
- 27% FPS boost
Other than the stage mods mentioned above, I also made Potato Mods for other things in the game, you can mix and match these with the stage mods:
Potato Mod - Universal Effects
- This is for every generic effects in the game, involving hit sparks, block sparks, jumping, dashing, drive parry, drive rush, drive impact, etc.
- Said effects have been greatly reduced, but still visually readable
Potato Mod - Character Level 3
- This mod removes all the visual effects of all level 3 and critical arts
Potato Mod - Main Menu + Character Select
- This mod removes all assets you see during the main menu and character select
Potato Mod - Main Menu + Character Select (No Models)
- This mod removes all assets you see during the main menu and character select and no character models character select and VS screen
Removes all stage assets except the interactable objects (arcade cabinets, kiosk, dj equipment, etc).
Removes all stage assets including the interactable objects (arcade cabinets, kiosk, dj equipment, etc). Use the map instead for navigatingNo lighting on everything, no sky
Removes all stage assets except floorsRemoved most stage lightings except character spotlights.

NOTES:
- When you're using ImageQualityRate at 0.5 or below and you have anti-aliasing off, the game menus can look buggy
- Apart from the menus looking buggy, certain supers (namely CA's) can look like they're freezing. They resume after the 'cinematic' finishes but just be aware this is normal. If you want to fix it, mess around with the effects quality on the settings, or turn on anti-aliasing
