i'm not sure if you have downloaded the new update (.76) or not. but after the update the save files (for most people) have moved from "Documents" to "app data". if you check the stranded deep patch notes it has an explanation of where they are. its under %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Beam Team Games\Stranded Deep\ but for me "app data" was a hidden folder so you may have to go drive C (or whatever your main drive is called) and under "view" at the top make sure you have hidden folders checked. otherwise it just wont show the "app data" folder. then i just created a short cut folder for it and i use that. now with that said once you have found the new save location (differs a little if you are using experimental or not) you have to go to data> maps OR data> experimental> maps. when you download the map it will be zipped so right click on it, unzip the folder then move the whole folder to the new "maps" folder. then when you are in stranded deep and you go to the cartographer you will see the new map there on the left. hope this helps
Hey there, really enjoyed your map! This was the first custom map I tried for Stranded Deep, absolutely love the island, its beautiful. Some minor critiques:
1.) Some of the animal spawns were negligible to deal with. In particular the Boars on the way to the top of the tower, their placement made it super easy to avoid them and just lay into them with the speargun. Another giant boar I ran into was just running in circles on the floor of the lagoon that contains the 3 sharks. I really liked the snake placement in the caves, especially the ones hanging back in the cracks in the walls in the passage with the boar.
2.) Loot was pretty ridiculously heavy. Loved it for this playthough, but may be reluctant to add it in on my more hardcore playthroughs. Would love a more bare bones version with considerably less loot around.
Can't wait for more of your content! Oh, quick question: I found 2 gyrocopter parts, is there a third I am missing?
ya i know the animal AI has been really buggy lately and nothing i can do about that. when the boars/big boars go into water they bug out and just run in circles. i always test each map out multiple times before publishing it and the sharks are really bad about spinning in circles too. The area up top isnt really meant to be difficult. i had it at first where it was really difficult to make it across but every time i fell the boars/crabs would pretty much insta kill me. so i didnt want to keep it that way and have people not have a good time. i think its still cool and its a good way to get a bunch of meat. plus if you use it for food you still have to go down there to get the animal anyways... honestly cant remember about the gryo parts there is so much stuff on the map. i put a ton of loot/ resources into the map cuz i like making the map really detailed. not all of it transfers into the game cuz of the game physics when the map loads up stuff can go flying around sometimes.
