In the default game the "ai empires" option seems to always be a set number, let's say you wanna build a 1k star galaxy with only 2 empires (one being yours) the game always spawns max possible for the galaxy size, i was wondering if this mod or any other mod would help me fix it?

Hi.  I found too many AI Empires start to limit the amount of Fallen Empires you will get in game.  I have the settings set to get 4 fallen empires in a Huge Galaxy size.
With only 55 or less AI Empires I would get 3-4 Fallen Empires, and 50% or more it was all 4.
The problem seems to start at over 55 Empires.  At 60 empires, I would get 1- 3 Fallen empires.  Getting  3 required multiple tries.  Usually the number was 1-2 with a high possibility of them being single star Fallen Empires.
At 75 AI Empires I only ever got 1 Fallen empire and usually only a single star empire.  I very often didn't get any Fallen Empires at all.

So for people using this mod, I would keep the Empire count at 55 or less Empires in a huge galaxy if you want multiple Fallen Empires to spawn.  I always have the War in heaven Crisis and you need at least 2 fallen empires for that.

Just for clarity, Load order could be a factor,  Since I haven't tested moving it within my load order, I can't say for sure, but i don't think that's the case.  I am also playing stellaris version 3.2.2

Thanks for pointing this out. It's a balancing act for sure where every AI empire needs some breathing room so it needs to have "spare stars" close to it that cannot be populated by anyone else, including Marauders and the Fallen guys. It's possible to get around this by editing even more stuff but I haven't found a straightforward way to do this for now and asking other modders was no help.

no problem.  It makes an interesting playthrough with a ton of smaller empires.  Your own expansion room becomes very limited quickly without going to war.  An interesting fact I found after I posted this, is the dynamics can change depending on your starting empire.  I initially tested it with a Hive empire, and ended up playing a human empire.  With 55 empires I could only get three fallen empires with humans, where as with the hive empire and 55 empires I would get 4 Fallen empires 50% or more of the time.

Not a bug, but you should mention on your Description over installation that the path needs to be changed to whatever the user name is (unless you're also V) or else the launcher will mention it is a failed installation.

Agreed.  I often delete the extra descriptor and simply let Irony mod manager fix it.  Irony also lets you dictate the order mods gets loaded or allows you to forward edits when they conflict, making the game a lot more stable, or customizable.

Added a recommendation to use Irony Mod Manager or fix the path manually, thanks for letting me know.
