this is great ive never really liked the default crosshair so this is amazing. Do you think it would be possible to make a version that doesnt turn red over a zombie and thats a dot but a lot smaller? I feel like the dot is a little too big for me. Also maybe have it just be an outline with no fill? Or both idk thx

I can do that, all that. But I have a few questions.

Did you want the crosshair to not change color at all? Or just change to a different color?

I will also make a smaller version.

And a version that's just a small doughnut.

And the other request, I basically already have that in v3. If that's not what you want let me know.

    Great Mod @ZODC137!

I've been playing this game without a HUD, and let me tell you—it's an incredible experience. The immersion skyrockets when you’re not constantly distracted by UI elements, making every action feel more realistic. However, playing this way has some major challenges:

    • Item selection becomes guesswork, making it frustrating in intense moments.
    • Health status is unclear, which can be a big issue in combat.
    • Some players love the immersion, but others avoid it because of these difficulties.
What if we had a mod that allowed custom HUD elements? Imagine being able to hide most of the HUD but still have access to essential elements in a more -immersive way:

    • Dot crosshair, just like you did!
    • Minimap appears only when driving a car, keeping exploration raw and immersive.
    • Remove zombie markers or special zombie icons from the map/minimap, forcing players to rely on sight and sound instead of icons.
    • Show car fuel level, so you don't waste 1 gas to fill up 5%

A minimal indicator for health and item selection, ensuring gameplay remains immersive.
These small changes would enhance realism while still keeping the game fair and enjoyable.

If you’re a fan of immersion, would you be interested in this kind of mod? What do you think? Could this be done?

I am not interested in creating this. It would require a completely new HUD. And that's way more work than I want to do for free.

Note: Tried this mod solo, no other mods through mod manager, and it seems to show the zoom button for a flicker (a second). It may have to do with the mod being installed through a mod manager. Regardless, wanted to point this out in case anyone else comes across this in their plays.

Side: Tried this with and without Full HUD enabled.

That's because those UI elements are tied to the crosshair, completely disabling the crosshair turns off those UI elements entirely, so you would no longer be able to do things that require the UI inputs. But so the functions still allow you to do the things, like choosing select fire, I hide them when you aim down sights, instead of disabling them. As that would no longer allow you to use the function.
