Thank you but no need for it, I will learn myself how to de-encrypt the game's files, if Undead Labs doesn't release their promised Update Patch soon, I will have to release my mods without further postponement.
When I try to use this, I can't set my specialization. Says press 'Q' then hold 'Q'. When I hold 'Q' the icon blinks, but never sets the specialization.
well done for posting this fix been struggling with the selection not working and thought I would have to start again. Do you have to remove Master clock to get it to work again?
I have YOSE... so I took a look at the expertise.xml to see how you did it, and I went ahead and made my own version of this mod for myself (it's pretty straightforward).
Personally, I made every other technique exclusive to Focus... since Focus is just that good. Otherwise, I'd just choose focus for every character (which is what I do in vanilla, and why I wanted something like this mod). Now, the choice is between two other techniques OR focus, and that's a real choice. I need some whiff of balance in my singleplayer games.
I made two categories:
Movement Techniques a) Marathon b) Ninja
Energy Techniques a) Rage b) Combat Endurance c) Focus*
*Focus is mutually exclusive to all other techniques, not just energy techniques. I just didn't want to make another category just for Focus.
I also just removed the rifle specialization from the game by setting it's required level to something unattainable because it's not possible to make it have a meaningful bonus (I looked, there's nothing that can be done from our end) if using a mouse (which I do) and I'd rather just not see the trap choice anymore.
I recommend that if anyone wants this mod for their YOSE game, then pick up an unpacker, sodtools, and a text file comparer (like Meld) and get to work. It's not hard.
I have a problem with the mod. The melee, ranged, and tactical specializations work just fine but it doesn't even show energy specializations. (Using base version not YOSE btw)
This mod works for YOSE but it takes away the lifeline heroes from the breakdown menu and the weapons from the prepper's pack but not the suv. I made a new SoD folder without mods and installed them one by one and its just this one that does that. If you dont mind not getting the joker and the other its still playable and awesome having those different skills.
Friendly FYI: I used the mod with a game I already started and it still worked. It even allowed me to pick a gun spec with marcus even though I already chose blunt weapons.
Great mod and I had a huge amount of fun with it in the original Breakdown. It doesn't work for YOSE, right? Is there any chance that you'll be doing an update, and do you think that it would require a new save?
Does this mod work for Lifeline? As I installed it, but it doesnt seem to do anything... The starting character (cant remember her name) still only has one specialization to pick from D:
I tried installing it through the NMM, and manually, but in both cases it doesnt do anything.
i would like to merge your mod with other mod that change certain aspect in the expertise file. Kindly please guide how do i merge your mod with others so i can use both mod at the same time.
I have tried messing around with the xml files using notepad++, end up the crashing the game

For the YOSE edition of SoD, please use this instead: YOSE Compatible - Both Melee And Ranged Weapon Specializations - Both Energy And Tactical Techniques
