I updated the main file with more hotkeys, day by day i will try to add more options. I'm not a modder, I just followed the guide on the shader toggle page HERE.
All previous versions of ReShade are available at https://reshade.me/releases
But you're right, with the newest version (6.3) this mod doesn't seem to work out of the box. You can still get it working by following the directions in the link in the pinned comment. Just delete the existing toggle groups and create a new one, use the numpad keys to 'hunt' for shaders as instructed, and add the hud elements/shaders you want to remove to the toggle group and save. Manual and kinda defeats the use of this mod .ini but it works like a charm.
Hey there, I really love this shader toggler for removing the interaction icons, but it seems to no longer work after the latest update. I am not here to rush you, but just to inform you!
Edit: it seems you just have to redo the shader selection, because I was able to get it working by doing just that, following the guide you linked :)
The pinned comment has a link that explains how you do it! You don't even need to download anything extra, you just have to go to the addon portion of the ReShade menu and delete the old ShaderToggler settings and start a new one based on your selections. Selecting the shaders is quite easy but make sure you check out the guide to ensure you do it all correctly
Edit: Also try not to get too excited when you find that some of the shader groups toggle off DoF or the Cutscene borders.. I thought this was awesome but sadly each of which are tied to other shaders, so disabling those also disables things you don't want disabled..
thanks! yeah, was a little confusing at first but directions are pretty straight forward if just go through it a couple times
So, if this mod is set up correctly - go to the ADD ONS section. Once in there (at least how I did it) click on CHANGE SHADERS in group you are looking to edit (Prompt Interaction). You will see in upper left corner it compiling all the shaders I think
Once that is done loading, I clicked numpad 4 (or numpad 5 for opposite direction) to scroll through shader group, you will need the game running in background with an interaction prompt present, like grabble point or climb button, etc. Keep clicking on numpad 4 or 5 until the interaction prompt goes away. Then click numpad 6, you will see yellow lettering that has been removed and successful in the upper left corner
The same method should work with any game that supports reshade I'm pretty sure, but hitmarkers can be tough to narrow down since you can't see them all the time. If the Avatar hitmarkers are linked to the shaders like in Outlaws, it should work though. But be warned, it targets shader groups, so it may disable more than you want it to. I don't disable hitmarkers in Outlaws because it also disabled some dialogue/interaction information as well.
Ok I was able to fix this, kind of, with the help of FILIPPOs pinned comment and X35129 guide. But it seems that group name changes everytime I restart the game, any advice?
ORIGINAL POST: I really would love this mod to work with the latest 1.4 patch. I can't stand all HUD elements when trying to enjoy the beautiful environment the developers has made for the game.
Is it possible to make a mod that makes it possible to remove or disable an Ability? Or at least the "Visual HUD notification" of it being used? The "Ask Later" Lando Ability -> it results in a yellow notification in the center of the screen every time adrenaline increases and that makes it VERY distracting. Even on minimal user interface settings, it still shows up in yellow in the center of the screen in EVERY combat situation against ANY opponent. It is there to notify the player that adrenaline is increasing from the hits and near misses, though, it is distracting and covers up valuable screen real estate information. It makes it hard to aim.
Is there a way JUST to disable that part of the HUD? The ability notification?
Update. so, the readme file is vital. It wasn't working at first because I had to "show" the UI elements on screen first in order to disable them. Also, NUPAD as shortcuts don't work as the main application already asigns those to other functions, so I used f4,f5, and so on.
While it is not possible yet to disable a specific element as they are in groups, and really, I would just like the remove the bright yellow "adrenaline is rising because you hit or nearly hit/near miss an enemy" in the very center of the screen, it can be removed along with quest location compass indicators. So I just need to press f6 or whatever before combat for a cleaner visual experience.
For some reason, at one point, hiding health bars worked! And then it didn't? It made them invisible, then just black? Even when full?
Hiding the main HUD elements is pretty though the crosshair disappearing makes it less easy. Some other comments talk about fixes for anyone particularly dedicated to a cleaner combat experience. For me disabling the quest indicator on the compass removes the boost on speeder, and adrenaline meter, though they go "dark" they don't "disappear' however it is excellent that the "yellow notification in the center for adrenaline gain' is removable!
You may or may not know that the game Avatar Frontiers of Pandora was made on the same engine and by the same team and sadly has forced on hitmarkers that are insanely ugly and ruin the visuals of that game (a game in which you can disable the entire hud except the hitmarkers). Is there any chance that this mod would work on that or could be tweaked slightly to catch those hitmarkers?
I've tried myself with the shader toggler addon for reshade but I cannot find the shader for the hitmarkers, how did you manage it given they are not a permanent or even timed hud element?
just delete everything out of shadertoggle.ini from the available upload, copy and past everything author has on the sticky in comment section into shadertoggle.ini - works great if Reshade set up correctly!
hoping we get option to remove the distracting little pictures/vertical lines drops from enemies on ground (weapons, grenades, bacta vials) , but this mod has already saved this game from having an overbearing UI that you can't adjust at all.

i can see your mod in reshade but nothing work (full addon support last version, i don't know why you talk about 5.2.2, we can't get this old version)
