I'm on an LG C3 and the Lillian's setting seems to just give me a black screen. As soon as I turn it off in ReShade it's all visible again. I reset it to default and it's working again, but I think I'm missing your settings this way.
Images look good. Noob Outlaws question: where does Ubisoft Connect hide the Outlaws.exe? So used to Steam common. Well, I assume that's where dxgi and your preset go.
Never Mind, found it. Didn't expect to see it under the game launcher. That's usually just an .exe to, uh like, launch the game for most games.
Hi, I want to know what effect 'streamer dedicated budget' actually has. I'm using RTX 4090 and tried 4096 and 8196, but I didn't notice any difference in frame rate or visual quality.
Texture streaming budget tells the game the amount of textures in MB it can keep in memory at any given time. People generally recommend setting this to your graphics cards maximum VRAM. I'm on a 4090, and have tried a few different approaches here, including setting it to 24000.
While in theory this should allow the game to display clear textures and to avoid smeary, low resolution textures, there is a known VRAM fracturing issue on the current build of the game which may be related to Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction, which causes VRAM to "leak" over time and to top out, which is causing the low resolution textures and in many cases, crashes of the game.
Developers have indicated that they will attempt to patch this, however there's no timeline on when this will occur.
In the meantime, if you're having issues I'd recommend setting the texture streaming budget to the VRAM of your card or slightly below, and turning off FG, RTXDI and RR. The lighting quality won't be as good, but you'll likely have more reliable visuals in terms of texture clarity and a reduction in motion artefacts such as blur on trees and hair.
Personally I'm happy to live with the problems for now to enjoy RTXDI on High, with all the soft and diffuse lighting improvements it brings, but also love how the game looks with stock raytracing. Choose your own adventure!
Good job man. I have the same TV and I really like how this looks. I'm using it either with a Razer Laptop or the PS5. Any settings you found to be good in general for when Game Mode is on with this particular TV model?
this game does not use the hdr calibration tool. it only using the in game settings also. set the nits in the game 200 nits above what your screen can handle.
While it's correct that the game itself doesn't use the HDR calibration tool, setting this prior to adjusting any HDR settings in game will ensure the baseline you're working from is accurate to the capabilities of your screen.
As far as setting the nits above what your screen can handle, I think this is largely a matter of taste: some people will enjoy this as the highlights pop more, but for purists and those wanting a technically perfect image, setting it as close to the max nits makes the most sense.
According to RTings, the peak 10% window for the QN85B in Game Mode is 983 cd/m², so I would use that as your reference point and adjust according to your enjoyment.
After some testing and back and forth between the in-game slider and the config file, I think the most accurate way to set the HDR peak is through the config. AngryWildMango is right in the sense that the actual peak as set in the config file is ~200 nits lower than the in game slider. I don't know if this is a 1:1 with cd/m² or not, but setting the config value to the TV's peak results in what I think is a better image and one closer to what I'd expect from properly calibrated HDR.
Worth noting I'm using lillium's shaders to lower the black floor as it's artificially high, like many modern games.
Good shout on all of this. Much appreciate the tips. Some I was already putting in practice although it's always good to get afirmation for this kind of things!
can you tell me wherethesesettings are? I would strongly recommend setting your sharpening in the game's graphics config file to 0.8999 or higher; as well as upping your texture streaming budget to 1024 or higher. I am using a 4090 and 7800X3D and have it set to 8196.
Apologies, I forgot to include this! I'll add it to the description as well:
The relevant config file is located in Documents/My Games/Outlaws/graphic settings.cfg
The file will revert to values different than what you've set upon launch, so if you're having trouble keeping your edits you can set the file to read only in Properties. This will mean that you can't change settings in game, therefore configure the graphics to your liking in-game before making any final changes in the ini and setting it to read only.

I have VRR on, Game HDR on, HDR10+ set to Advanced, but other than that everything is set to standard.
If you're on Windows, use the HDR Calibration tool
In game I have everything maxed, with the -unlockmaxsettings launch command
HDR in game is set to 1000 (should be closer to 980 but 1000 is fine), overall brightness between -8 and -4 depending on taste
