>> FOR THOSE WHO ARE CONCERNED BY THE CRASH OF THE INSTALLER (RESHADE) DURING THE LAST STEP <<
Don't worry if the installer crashes. Just skip the last step, and launch your game, once the game is launched open the ReShade panel by pressing your "Home" key on the keyboard (https://www.computerhope.com/jargon/h/homekey.htm) and then once the panel is oppen : - click on "skip tutorial", Then at the top you have a dropdown to select the .ini file (the preset you put in the game folder in step 2). : https://imgur.com/xnhKkYH Once selected, you will have carried out the last step manually.
My only worry is why to remove a file from reshade itself to replace it with yours. It seems like that is the reason why reshade doesn't really load properly anymore for people. without your file and only using the ini itself does make it a bit sharper, thats kinda it.
So I made copy of the original file just to be safe and what I noticed there is a red error with "FXAA.FX failed to compile.
especially FXAALumaPass and FXAAPixelShader "interpolation qualifiers do not match vertex shader ones."
other than that it does look good but not fully working with the error. Plus I don't like modifying the original data of reshade because that might give problems to other shaders for other games as well who knows.
I also noticed these errors with other shaders as well that it doesn't load after changing your file with the original. changing it back to the original fixed it. So yeah. It's not a bad mod at all, but it has for some reason a few errors.
edit : so I took the FXAA.FX data file from the original reshade build and putted into your file. It does remove the error, however, there are some other errors (even before that as well) that are only noticable in the log, not as a main error tho. So yeah. I do find it enjoyable the way it is now. it maybe it not fully what you intended to do but it does look better. Also it does lag a bit less doing so.
This mod is simply amazing! Not only does it get rid of that annoying grey filter the game has, it makes the image sharper and clearer! On Ultra settings I was disappointed with the vanilla image for just being blurry. Even with depth of field and motion blur off. The grey filter the game has to me is like a second form of depth of field to mask the not so sharp textures.
Thanks for the compliment ! For Bogano the default game is unfortunatly already to bright and my reshade dont change that it only correct the luma diffusion with ambiantlight. Cheers and good game !
Hello @XOGAMERMARK69 : Don't pay attention to the folder "_Mascox" it is unfortunately a temporary folder created by mac you can delete it.
Delete the folder "reshade-shaders" from your game installation folder, then simply copy and paste the new folder "reshade-shaders" available in files tab.
I either can't get ReShade to load, or I can't tell that it's loading. In other games, there's text along the top of the screen when the game starts. I don't see that here, and Home doesn't do anything. I manually edited the reshade.ini file to point to the preset, but it didn't change what I was seeing. So, not sure what's up - maybe the May 4th update changed ReShade support?
Hello @scottykyzer : - What version of ReShade you are trying to use ? - Can you confirm that you're installing ReShade in the right place: starwarsjedifallenorder.exe in the Game Folder > \SwGame\Binaries\Win64\
If it still doesn't work I invite you to download the version of reshade used to create this mod : https://www.nexusmods.com/starwarsjedifallenorder/mods/105?tab=files&file_id=338 then follow the instructions of the description.
It is possible that the last step results in a crash of the ReShade.exe installer if this happens it's not critical and I invite you to follow the explanation of the sticky post above.
Thanks for the reply. I had used the installer you had linked, as well as followed the sticky (because that last step was crashing ReShade). Today, I also tried this ReShade mod, which doesn't even requiring installing ReShade, and it too didn't actually do anything. This was the folder I tried both ReShades in: C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64. I've successfully used ReShades on other games. It's no big deal if I can't get it to work. This game looks pretty good by default.
Hello @scottykyzer : Very strange indeed ! to be shure, I'v reinstalled the game and ReShade myself to possibly determine your problem, but everything works except for the last step for which you just have to follow the instructions of the sticky post...
Do you launch the game from the EXE in the win64 folder ?
Because if you have pointed the ReShade installer to the EXE in the win64 folder, ReShade is now correctly installed and you should have the "Reshade-Shaders" folder installed correctly.
Just with these 2 steps even without using my preset or my custom reshade-shaders folder, launching the ReShade game should launch ReShade at least.
Can you tell me if it works from there, Tx in advance !

Hello, I did not test with the last version of reshade, I advise to use the version used to create this mod : Download Reshade 4.5.4 https://www.nexusmods.com/starwarsjedifallenorder/mods/105?tab=files
if you test with the latest version do not hesitate to give me a feedback. Tx in advance
