At first, the game crashed because of AMD driver issues. After installing dgVoodoo2 as described in the posting dated 25 November 2023, 7:03AM it works. The ships are nice in the high resolution. However, I am missing the many mods that Kobayashi Maru had. The starfield background is still crap. And the function I am missing the most is the ability to add neutral ships to a QB game. Bottom line: quite nice but doesn't fit my purpose.
doesn't work, won't even launch, clicking on game icon does nothing. EDIT: Yeah, it's the resolutions, only 3 resolutions work, if you use any other, you are sh#t out of luck, game won't launch so your only choice is to play a weird, misaligned resolution which your monitor doesn't support or to delete the entire damn thing and forget it even exists, which i am about to do.
Is there a way to make all the new ships available in quick battle? Currently I can only select ships from the base game in quick play but in multiplayer I see all the new ships.
I wanted to bring awareness to an issue. BC Remastered does not run on Radeon graphics cards with any driver version after 23.7.2. As soon as you change the camera to exterior view or start a quick battle, the game crashes to desktop. Kobayashi Maru and stock Bridge Commander work fine, however. At first I thought it was something AMD broke, but I've tested with 23.8.1, 23.8.2, 23.9.1, 23.9.2, 23.10.1, and 23.10.2 and this issue persists. If you are testing this, be aware that if you install one of the newer drivers, Remastered will still work until you reboot. The error information is as follows:
This has just saved me hours of troubleshooting, thanks. Shame, I had just upgraded PCs and was hoping to play BC remastered. Glad I'm not the only one, but at the same time shame this is still ongoing.
Hi, I had the same issue with amdxn32.dll. Just download dgvoodoo2, copy files from MS/x86 folder to Bridge Commander root (where stbc.exe is located), launch dgVoodooCpl.exe, in DirectX tab just untick dgVoodoo watermark and click OK. Then run Bridge Commander as you'd normally do and it should work. I'm on AMD 23.11.1 Driver.
Anyone know how to modify the ships stats in the latest version of the mod? Cause i had the 1.1 release and modded a ton of the ships to rebalance them but had to start over with 1.2 and it seems impossible to get ship stat mods working like before since there's different file locations and stuff in the directories. This is a huge issue for me as i find a lot of the ships in the mod are way to weak and not viable at all.
I think you may be having trouble because the ship hardpoint .py files are moved to a separate folder in the 1.2 release. This is because it breaks multipalyer compatibility to leave them in the regular scripts/ships/hardpoints folder.
If you want to modify the hardpoint file of a ship, all you have to do is move the hardpoint file from the "py" folder to the "scripts" folder in the appropriate directory.
I tired that and it didn't work, none of the changes were in the game. plus in the scripts/hardpoints there's already .pyc files of all the ships which in my experience if those files are there no matter what modifications you make to the py file the game reads only the .pyc files unless you delete the .pyc files so the game generates new ones once the specified ship is loaded in game. I tried everything i could think of for getting the new .py editing to work but it didn't at all.
Like I said earlier about the .pyc files, wouldn't changing the .py of a ship and moving into the scripts/hardpoints not even work since the game wouldn't even read them? I tried deleting the .pyc files in there and the game would get stuck and not work right. In the 1.1 and original game with custom ships deleting .pyc didn't break the game so I'm confused...

I really hope there is a solution as I also play Starfield and Phantom Liberty and I would love to use the latest drivers for those games.
