Seems the mod author has vanished. Someone is offering a bootleg update for 97 here: https://github.com/MnHebi/ORA/releases/tag/0.95rc4m Or you can check the forum for information here: https://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=11646.285
I love the mods paint scheme, it reminds me of Warhammer 40k Slaanesh colors. I tried to install the Wet Navy designs but when I download the file its described as a "7Z" file. I can't extract it and I'm not sure if I put it in the right folder (ships_materials right?)
HardcorePete wrote: I'm not a fan of the way the ORA is set as the "good faction" as I feel like the loss of innocence is one of the large themes in Starsector, like a Star Trek gone dark. Pair that with the fact they have high tech ships seems a bit mary sueish, for instance, it seems like a movement for the people and the betterment of the sector wouldn't get that far, as morality doesn't really pay well out in the vacuum. Thus, they would probably not get access to high tech equipment. Although, I have to commend you on the design of the ORA ships, as the idea of a broadside based high tech fleet, looks like it would pretty fun to use in combat. (although personally I really enjoy my low tech dakka dakka). In addition, the aesthetic of the crafts is very good. I like how the silver and dark blue play off the shields, as it compliments the light color of the shields. Although, I'm not really fan of the gold accents along the ships, it doesn't take away from the overall quality of the color and design. Also the shape of the ships aswell is pleasing, I like how the cylindrical look is contrasted with some jagged edges in the middle area. Overall this mod from a purely aesthetic standpoint, is a 9/10.
Nevermind the bit about the golden decorations, I just realized you can get an additional mod to remove them. Cool
Very late reply, but (spoiler alert) if you think the ORA is "the good faction" you need to explore a bit more their systems and read their market flavor texts.
