Why does the video work but the sound remains original?

make sure to install this mod in the steamapps\common\Starfield\Data folder and not the Documents\My Games\Starfield\Data folder.

    What is 444978067.wem used for?

456350239.wem is the main music, and both files are the same size (which is quite large). So what is the other file for? If it is not used, you could remove it and halve the file size.

    Thanks for uploading!

As far as the file sizes are concerned, the next version of the mod will have significantly smaller sizes, the main reason for the large file sizes of the audio files is that i literally looped them for 30 minutes, i can reduce that to something like 15 minutes, but with this approach the main menu music will stop, idk im sure people wont mind lol
And as far as the 2 identical files....
both of them are the main menu music, thats how Wwise works i know its counterintuitive but the backend script needs both files in order to load the main menu music, there are also other files being played in the background that you probably cant notice, there is an ambiance effect and some other SFX... i am currently working on a Modding Suite that will let you unpack, organize, live play in an integrated player and easily convert and work with .wem .ba2 and .bk2 files. Stay tuned!

    Hello,

I have no StarfieldCustom.ini in my Documents / My Games / Starfield

    Only these :
    - ControlMap_Custom.txt
    - StarfieldConsoleHistory.log
    - StarfieldPrefs.ini

    Do I missed something ?

you need to make a StarfieldCustom.ini and enable loose file modding, follow this guide

      https://modding.wiki/en/starfield/users/loose-file-modding

      or this guide

Okay so after around 30 minutes I've got it to work :D

I changed one of the .wem files to 471598494.wem
I did also delete my old saves at the time too as I was starting fresh.
My ingame audio music is set to 100%
Also worth noting I'm not on NG+ yet tho I'll update when I get there and if the mod works.

One of the best, if not the best, main menu replacement for Starfield (whose original is good!), especially for those who have an OLED monitor (or a TV...) and don't want to run the risk of burn in the screen (that's why, to my great regret, I don't use the game's original main menu) if playing Starfield for many years, like how I plan to do.

I strongly advise it to be used with mods that also remove fixed elements from the main menu, and the CRT - Clean MainMenuInterface mod is the only one I've found so far that removes the central Starfield symbol. I just need to find a mod that removes the saying "Press any button key to start".

And before you start saying that Starfield's main menu is rubbish and that Bethesda is lazy, I watch Starfield's main menu in 4K and on an LG OLED 42C3 TV, which is about 60cm (23 to 24 ") ) away from my face. If I say that the main menu is good, it's because it really is good! The only shame is that, despite being an animated main menu, there always has to be a very bright part of the screen and another part always in the dark, which is not good for the health of an OLED screen over the years.

I have been scouring the nexus for a main menu replacer and none of them were quite what I was looking for until I finally found this one. Thank you very much. I'm really looking forward to the future updates you mentioned. Cheers!

I found out why the sound doesn't work and why we only hear the default game intro music.

This is kind of stupid but these audio files do not replace the default intro music.  It is simply played over it.  This mod would work when we have Music volume turned on.  But when we have music off, it wouldn't work.  However, the default intro music would play regardless of music volume is on or off.  It is really bad if Bethesda has 2 music playing at the same time.

To listen this mod, you have to turn on Music volume in game.  And for those who is tired of in game Music and turned it off, then there is no way to listen to the audio for this mod.

Or, if someone finds out the correct mandatory intro music file to replace.

Where did you get the source of the audio?  It shouldn't be this large even for uncompressed recording.  This must be some insane high fidelity files :)

Just letting you know, at least on the gamepass version, I had to move the soundbank files to my documents for the main menu track to work, don't know why but you should update the description or pin this so future users don't get frustrated, love the mod though

      +1
This. But also for steam too. It depends on where u usually put u mod files, it either has to be documents folder or game root folder (using the baka disable my games folder mod). But I could be wrong entirely, someone pls confirm.

I can't get the sound to work at all, I have tried everything. I noticed on some other mods that it might be different for NG+ is this true? Video works fine, but it refuses to load the sound and will always play the default menu song?

Okay so update, for NG+ you need to rename one of the files to 471598494.wem and then turn music sound to 0 to actually hear the song.... Think its a bug where NG+ uses different menu song. Its super quiet as well so not really worth it, hopefully people can find a way around it at somepoint.

Thank you, that was literally the fix! I was checking my damn ini files like 100 times and trying different mods to see if I could get it to work. All it was was Bethesda had a different sound track for ng+ which I would guess little to no people know about.

What's the name of the original track? I tried looking up "Interstellar Lowfi Remix" on youtube, but I can't find that specific track. It's extremely beautiful!
