I will add some more items over the next few days. Please comment ideas, thank you.
But I will not add all junk items, having a lot of just decorative or sellable only items is fine. (plus I am lazy, there are a lot) And some people would not want their mug collection be used as resources.
How to "salvage": I just wanted a cool mod name. The items will automatically be used when crafting since I marked them as resources.
I love this, but a couple of thoughts... - Could you make it so that you actually need to deconstruct them using the industrial workbench? I know it's another step, but it would make a scavenger feel more immersive :) - This would obviously only work if you did my first request above, but also enable the desoncruction of space suits, helmet, packs and weapons into some components like textiles, membrane, iron, tungsten, titanium, mag pressure tanks, etc. That would fulfill my scavenger dream :D
yeah it is satisfying to scrap down the junk and get the components / resources. No idea how you would accomplish that though. Maybe a placeable object on your ship that scraps all the salvageable junk in the cargo hold, and turns it into resources. Or scratch the button, maybe its a specific placeable workbench?
There are already mods that allow for junk deconstruction. I actually like this mod better, exactly because it removes the unnecessary tedium from actually using junk as resources.
I had been going to suggest NASA notebooks but then the concept that they might have been environmentally unfriendly and used non-recyclable materials could be historically accurate.
Exactly my concern. It just shows that junk contains resourse but doesn't specify which exactly. So it renders the mod completely useless and confusing to use.
is it possible to see what is salvageable as I am walking around (like as asterisk next to their name or something), or would I need to keep a note pad next to me to make sure I was picking up the right stuff?
Good lord this should have been in vanilla. Thank you so much. Fallout 4 "junk" did exactly this so I don't know why they couldn't do the same out-of-the-box for Starfield. TN was able to make the oxygen tanks (that previously only served the purpose of being IEDs) into consumable items. Could the same potentially be possible for the radioactive tank (works like uranium, radium, etc.) and combustible tank (works like helium-3)? Granted these aren't junk since they're not currently lootable, but it would be cool to use these as a convertible resource.
Yes! I'll second that! Bethesda's incompetence boggles the mind. Why'd they remove the feature scrapping junk for resources that was in FO4? Everyone knew SF was going to be ES+FO=SF! Duh!

Being able break them down would be really handy. I got abunch of random stuff in my ship, and chest in my home.
Maybe copy-paste Industrial Bench, and give it break down recipes only. (instead of cluttering main bench?)
P.S. Yes, superb 'must have' mod.
