it seems like there's a glitch with this mod.
on the systems that are scaled up from low level all the enemies spawned in the environment appear on your radar and their nameplate appears from extremely far away when you aim near them

So I found the settings in the CK to remake this mod, the planets are under WorldData/Locations and when opened there is a setting called Minimum Encounter level. By default they correspond to the regular level of the system, ie Sol is level 1 etc. I then opened each planet Location that was under level 20 and changed the 1, 5, 10 or 15 to 20. Simple right? I then saved and converted to master and enabled in the creations menu.

I then confirmed in game that this was most likely the same setting the original author changed because now all the green level 1-15 planets had blue level 20 Icons, just like in the original mod. But I went to a few low level planets and the enemies were still low level. Luna still had a ton of level 2 pirates, other planets still had nothing but level 5 ecliptics and so on.

So then I opened up the ESP I still saved for editing and when it loaded it said there were 1500 warnings and a big red list of conflicts I could not interpret. Strange when I only edited 1 setting for about 40 Id's.

At this point I'm stumped. My guess is either the CK needs to be updated. Or the same Id's have been altered in the latest Starfield update and they are overriding any modifications to this setting.

Unfortunately I'm tired of trying to mod a game that seems patched together in a truly haphazard way.

I came across a bug when I uninstalled this mod (Vortex, lvl 20 version). My game would crash every time I entered my ship. Once I reinstalled the mod I stopped crashing but I also figured out a fix. PSA to anyone who has the same issue and wants to uninstall: disable the mod, launch your game, save your game (hard save not quick save), quit the game and relaunch and load from that save file you just created. Not sure exactly but I think by creating a new save without the .esm file in the load order is what made my game to stop crashing

Thanks for the helpful info, I will probably be uninstalling the mod soon. It seems to still work in the system I was currently in at the time of the latest update. But not when I go back to previously visited systems.

I 'may' try to figure out how the author did this using the CK. If I do I will upload on Nexus but only lvl 20 and 30 versions. But no guarantees I can figure it out either.

This mod doesn't seem to be working anymore after the vehicle update. I went back to Luna and all enemies were no higher than level 6.

Are the latest files you have here on Nexus created with the CK or xEdit?

Yes, that"s right. Or you use my new Dynamic System Levels mod which automatically scales up the star system levels according to your character level.

Just so I understand... this sets the minimum level of planets to... 75, or one of the other levels... and all planets/systems in the game are at least that level? So if you install this as a level 1 player, you're basically screwed lol? I definitely think for anyone starting as a level 1 character, dynamic leveling is far superior. I only see this mod being useful if you're already high-level and want to artificially increase the challenge because you've already done everything and are getting bored...

Yes, If you want just near your level I would use a version of this mod near your own character level.

If you want more challenge though take a version 10 or 20 levels above you. You can easily control this as the series ranges from 20 to 75 now and you can switch any time.

If you want to have some star ystems hat feel low level to better roleplay your character growth take a version 10 or 20 levels below you. Then these star systems are easy, but still entertaining.

It's also quite immersive to see the new star system levels on the starmap and on system info. The Settled System appear much more dangerous this way.

When making the change on start of NG+ you can feel that you made progress by setting off into a visibly higher level universe.

I'll give it a shot. Maybe at some point we'll get an MCM that can allow us to make these changes on the fly instead of needing to download a new file. Also, I know you mentioned that you might try making a dynamic version of either this or MEL. +1 to that idea, if we could make it that at level 1 everything is normal levels, then maybe at higher levels it starts to pick up a bit.

Or I could try a suffer playthrough and just keep it jacked to 75 at the beginning of the game lol.

Was wondering if you could set the system level to 7x vanilla for all systems? I like the distribution of enemy levels in vanilla, but the actual levels are way too low. Not exactly the same topic as this mod but related enough for me to ask.

Yes, such could be done. But I am not certain how much of an effect system levels above 75 would really have. There are lists with enemies that go to about level 120 at max (and these are already used in lvl 75 system). Even at system level 150 the game has no higher enemies to draw. Only way to have enemies above that max. level is to scale the enemy itself with a mod (see Minimum Enemy Level mod).

I see. So, while the low-level systems would work as intended, some of the concepts from your other mod would need to be applied to make the changes effective in medium to high-level systems. Well, if the creation kit ever stops crashing on my computer, maybe I'll try to do it myself. Thanks for the reply!

Try Minimum Enemy Level (MEL) on top. It will give you lvl 165 enemies at your level - when encountered in lvl 50 to lvl 75 systems they will be of the highest subtype of their class. In lower level star systems they will still be lvl 165, but of lower classed subtypes. When using MEL + MSL (75) you will see lvl 165 enemies of highest subclass everwhere. You could even combine MEL 100 + MSL 75 and your enemies will be level 220 of highest class subtype everywhere... good luck then :-).
