hey, how's the license situation going?  any updates to this mod?  the game's missing some real substantial armor/clothing and footstep foley, and this mod would single-handedly save it.

    fingers crossed!

Hey, i am currently waiting for the new creation kit site to be up and running. I am waiting to see if there is a smarter way to work with the mod, since i work as a fulltime freelancer, i currently dont have the time to remake 1000s of sound files.

appreciate the reply.  let me know when you have more free time and are willing to accept donations.  foley is important to me in RPGs and i am willing to fund your efforts.

      thanks again!

Those sounds really good , i think they would fit with spacesuit on, but im going for something a bit more subtle for cities and other locations where u dont have spacesuit on. Im currently stuck because im waiting to be contacted regarding licensing for wwise. Until they contact me back im not ablo to convert more soundfiles, and i have about 2100 soundfiles left to edit to complete the mod, and their trial period is for 200 files max lol

Are you still working on this mod? I saw in the comments that it’s not finished yet. Will the sound affect enemies too? It’s kind of frustrating how quiet everything is. I play without a HUD, so I can’t tell where NPCs are until I see them. Even when they’re right next to me, I can’t hear them—forget about trying to immerse yourself while sneaking.
Thanks for all your hard work!

I would love to see this mod also increase the volume of the player footsteps themselves! Casual NPC's walking past us in a city have louder footsteps. The way the mixed the player character footstep audio is very strange. The quietness of it lends to the floaty feeling of the movement, too. Don't know why Bethesda decided to make them so quiet.

edit : never mind seems to be working but I just realised the sound of footsteps for the player character is not loud compared to our companions, dont know why but i think its from the game itself and not the mod

Sound file names doesnt say if its npc footstep sounds or PC unfortunately. But now CK are out and i can see which are which, i will redo everything from the ground up, when they update CK so i can import custom sounds. Seems they have a "base footsteps" collection with just a small amount of files (instead of the 2k + files before CK), and i think editing that will affect all fotsteps no matter what ground type the pc is walking on. We will see.

I highly recommend redoing this mod from the ground up. There are dedicated sounds for foley with spacesuits equipped, they're just incredibly quiet. You should create new footstep audio with light surface scuffing, then change the spacesuit foley to have all the zippers and belts clanking. That way you can have something subtle but audible/unique when roaming cities without gear. I've been modding various foley sound files since 2013 starting with GTA IV and earlier Bethesda games if you need any help or have questions. Good luck!!

From the video it sounds more like clothes shuffling than footsteps.

Yes, but music is off so to hear the new sound effects only, i made them to fit the default audio settings ingame, when its at default settings the sounds are very subtle. The tricky part is finding a sweet spot for the sounds volume, since everyone plays at different audio settings. The sound of clothes shuffling may be toned down a bit, bump up the sounds of footsteps and coins. I will keep updating, and add alternate versions so people can find what they like the most :-)

I finally got around to trying it and it does sound very good. I hate footstep sound in this game, it's barely audible even on max settings.

Really enjoying this mod so far! I like hearing the foley as my character move about. It's something I enjoyed a lot playing Tarkov or the Stalker games, so seeing something like this here is a treat.

    Looking forward to further updates!

Video is added, but keep in mind the music is turned off, the results sounds much different ingame at default audio settings :-)

In the process of playing Death Stranding, I really like the texture of walking simulation and like your idea.
