I have downloaded every v1.2 file from this mod and tested each one individually and they all worked for me, so if you are having issues with missing headparts it is due to one of the following:
Spoiler:
Show
Make sure you have the latest version, 1.2. Nexus went down while uploading v1.1 and I think it may have caused issues.
Verify Installation: If you have v1.2 and still have issues, the plugin is not loading or you don't have loose files enabled.
Vortex Users: Still not working? Try manually installing instead of using Vortex. Or switch to Mod Organizer 2 and save yourself a lot of headaches.
Save and Reload: Not sure why this might be needed but sometimes when starting a new game and first meeting a companion, they may not have hair. Reloading seems to fix it.
Change Your Load Order: Try moving the plugin higher or lower in your load order. Starfield is very finicky with load orders and even if there are no conflicts you sometimes need to move the plugin.
Still Not Working?: Read the directions again. There's really not any more info I can give you that is not already covered above. The mod works and has been tested. If it is not working for you then something is wrong with your install, load order or you have a conflict.
And since I've already had to delete some comments: NPC looks are completely subjective and I know not everyone will care for what I've done. While I don't mind comments that your prefer another look (totally fine and not being rude), there is absolutely no need to comment that they look like crap or any other such rude nonsense. Don't like it? Just move on and find another mod.
For people using the version of this mod on beth.net and getting bald Sarah:
1. Delete mod 2. Go back to main menu 3. Open creation tab again, download mod and move it to the place you want on load order 4. Back to menu, load a save.
It seems the mod needs the same treatment that UI mods do, where you need to delete it and download again to make everything work again. :)
Ps: I absolutely love this mod!! They all look so good and fresh without looking like a completely different person. Just lovely! ♡
Just a heads up. Some community patch fixes are not forwarded. I'm not trying to step in anything, I dunno if love/hate/are indifferent to it, just adding info. Thanks for sharing your work. :)
pls help, where i have to go to edit my companion?! i am at the enhanced shop but i only can edit myself ?!?! thx for help and in the mod description i cant see any how to?
Having a VERY odd issue. I am trying to get a Sarah face change to work that USED to work with this like a month ago (I have photos from photo mode that confirm I am not mad). I just recently realised it was no longer working, that mod is this -
So testing to see how to fix I try disabling this, but the changes remained. I then deleted this. Changes remained. How can that be? I then installed another alternative look for Sarah, no change, she still has thins Enhances Companion look. I am baffled! I triple made sure the ESM and BA2 files are no longer installed. I don't get it?
Thanks for this mod. Perfect subtle tweaks! I'm using the Bethesda Creations version and somehow Sam's hat came back recently?! I have no other Sam related mods. Tried removing and adding again, same thing.
Do you have any other mods that modify Sam? Could be that his outfit record is being overwritten by another mod. If you are on PC, you can use console to remove it: 29d488.removeitem 1c8e0a
As I said, no other mods that modify Sam at all that I am aware of! Only other mod I have that is anything like it is one that changes Sarah's outfit. That one is working fine with this one but shouldn't effect Sam.
This doesn't seem to work for me. Tried other companion re-tex mods and they don't either all of a sudden. Anyone else have this issue or know of a fix? All my other mods seem to be working except ones like these that edit the companions.
I've verified files, disabled all mods, nothing. This mod is also at the bottom of the load order - so it's overwriting anything that may edit the npc.
Just wanna say - THIS is the perfect Sarah mod. Just enough touching up to make her wildly more attractive, yet still Sarah. (And I had her has a primary companion for over 100 hours, so I KNOW the real Sarah!).
So many other modders want to wildly change Andreja and Sarah and the best modders keep their core, and just touch up here and there to fix Bethesda's...err.. crudeness? In their latest character models.
May I ask - I finally got the hair to stay on their heads ;) by changing my load order and placing 'No hat for Sam Coe' and then the companion mod right after that at the very top. Since the very first time downloading though, Sam still wears his blue/orange jacket with the bright blue pendant. As someone who is still learning her way around mods, is there something I should change? I do not have any other clothing mods.
You need to edit (or create it if it doesn't already exist) CreationKitCustom.ini and add the following lines: [Debug] bAlwaysGenerateCpuGeometryExtraFields=1 bEnableEditorSaveGeometry=1
If you are not editing NPCs and instead doing other things in CK, you will want to change bAlwaysGenerateCpuGeometryExtraFields to 0 because it tasks the CPU having this set to 1 but it is required to generate facegen meshes for altered NPCs.
Then just open the NPC record in CK and make the changes in the Face Customization and Face Morphs tabs. There is a Preview box at the middle bottom of the window what you can select Head to zoom in.
When you have the NPC how you want them, click the Bake FCT and Bake Chargen Mesh Geometry buttons on the Face Customization tab to generate the new mesh and textures for the edited NPC.
Editx2: I would like to offer my deepest apologies to the modder: Your mod does work. The problem is Vortex. With Vortex, this mod does not work but I moved to Mod Organizer 2 and the mod works now. Don't ask me why or what I did different other than changing from Vortex to MO2... but it just works now.
Edit: Alright so, I was checking another Sam Coe mod and the author of the mod wrote this "Bald head? This is being looked into on several of my replacers, the culprit seems to be related to the SFBGS-ESMs that were added in the june update. the bug reorders the Load order when booting up the game. for example, if you were to put this mod at the bottom, the bug moves it in the creations Load order after starting the game, even with a mod manager, theres no warning. when you return to the Load order, the contents may look the same but the SFBGS ESMS have loaded last. This is why many mods are now glitched. we are trying to have it fixed by bethesda." https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/9729
Ì don't have the Supercompanions and Crews mod nor the Badass Constellation Companions mod and whenever I remove Sam's hat, he is bald. Like, not completely bald but has a very close shave. I tried installing with Vortex and manually. I also tried the Sarah one and it didn't work either (she's bald). I am using the individual mods not the all-in-one. I don't have the Plugins.txt Enabler because it is my understanding that its not longer needed? I am using other mods that used to need the plugins.txt and they no longer do and are working perfectly fine. I could be wrong. Starfield had gone through some changes.
I had the problem with the remove hat console command as well (also don't have any of the other mods). So instead of typing it all in, just open your cc, click on Sam until NPC_'SamCoeREF' (0029D488) [EP] comes up and then type removeitem 1c8e0a
I suggest you do a hard save before you do this, as I would not want to be responsible for your game breaking. It worked for me, he has the short hair with no hat, but his clothes are back to the brown/orange/blue. I can live with that because I usually just give him another outfit.
Hope it helps
I should probably add that I uninstalled the group mod, and downloaded each one individually before I did the above, as Sarah was also bald. Now they are all fine.

Thank you.
The outfit in the screenshots for Sam is not from this mod. It's from Better Outfit For Sam Coe
Do you by any chance know where I could find a CK tutorial to create edited NPCs mods just like you did ?
