1. Go to C:\Users\%userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Starfield 2. Create StarfieldCustom.ini if it doesn't already exist. 3. Put "sStartingConsoleCommand=bat ShellCasingsMedium" in your StarfieldCustom.ini for this to auto run on game start and make sure its under [General] 4. If you already have "sStartingConsoleCommand" declared then add it like this "sStartingConsoleCommand=bat ShipDebris; bat SomeOtherModBat; bat ShellCasingsMedium"
(Change ShellCasingsMedium to whatever variant you are using)
Shell Lifetime: 5 Shell Distance: 512 Max Shells: 25
If you can't see any casings: Not all weapons eject shell casings. Guns that do are Maelstrom, Old Earth Shotgun, Kraken and Old Earth Hunting Rifle OR guns that use the following ammo 6.5MM, 9X39MM, 7.62MM, .45 CALIBER and 12G SHELL.
Tried this on 1.14 (Shattered Space DLC Update), works fine with just Starfield, no additional plugins or consol commands running. Just drop ESM to Data folder and enable the ESM via in-game Creation load order.
Looks incredible, tried Medium version. Not every weapon drops cases, like Revolvers don't. For the similar reason 7.77 cal weapons also dont: 7.77 is CaseLess ammo, lol. Really cool job, must be included in Vanilla.
Thank you for the update. i will pin this so others will know this.
What i can say is that this is compatible with any weapon and even weapon mods if they are properly setup using vanilla/engine default methods to drop shell casings. If no casings are dropping they were not enabled for the weapon or are using a a special shell casing piece of code.
Does this Mod still work? I tried all installation variants of the Ultra version, however it doesnt seem to change anything. (I'm using Vortex btw) Any tips for me? i'd love to get this mod to work <3
This mod should still work without issues. I've read that the plugins enabler mod is not needed anymore since version 1.12.30. Make sure you are running that version then simply install the mod again. The ESM file should be in the data folder after a successful installation.
if it still does not work let me know and i will try it on my end to verify that it works. (Switched to linux so i haven't setup MO2 and Starfield yet)
Actually the game has "Old World Guns" which still have casings. Additionally above i mentioned which guns so you could look up the wiki to see that there are in fact guns ejecting casings. Or you can spawn them into a vanilla game using the console to see it happen.
There are several ammo types in the game that are not caseless, incl. 7.62x39, 9x39, .45 ACP, and 6.5mm CT. This mod doesn't give spent casings to any gun that fires caseless, it only makes the the guns that DO use cased ammo, have longer lifetime/quantity on those casings.
So next time, maybe actually play the game and/or the mod, before running your mouth, huh?
This guy is like a shitty driver on the road who cuts you off to try and beat the red light and doesn't and when you pull up next to him he can't look at you cause he's too much of a bish
Trying to figure out why it isnt working, i have it installed through vortex if that makes any difference. Casings still dissapear after the default time and there is still the default casing limit too.
@OddballEasyEight That's how nexus works. I sadly cannot declare specific dependencies for specific file versions i can only add them globally to this mod page. On the main page its also stated that CCR is only needed for that version where as the ESM needs the plugin enabler mod.
Can someone explain the difference the ESM version makes?
I've been using this mod since its release, the ULTRA variant, it works, the casings are there with certain guns - just wondering if I should update to the .ESM version put out. Are CCR mods not as good or stable? Should I update it to the ESM version ?
I have a ton of mods installed now (91) just wondering if having less CCR mods will improve the game, or having more ESM's or just a simple dumbed down explanation of what the pros and cons of either are, especially in relation to when Bethesda updates the game itself and breaks SFSE and scripts etc.
Again, just wondering for a quick explanation for us newbies.
The difference between ESM and CCR is that CCR is dependent on a Third Party Mod (CCR) while ESM is official supported by the game. This overall mod is small and only changes engine values so it doesn't really matter which one you use.
TL:DR It doesn't matter what version you use. Choose the variant that fits you the most.

As suggested by HoltDT and rogueang3l1. Go toC:\Users\%userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Starfield2. Create StarfieldCustom.ini if it doesn't already exist.3. Put "sStartingConsoleCommand=bat ShellCasingsMedium" in your StarfieldCustom.ini for this to auto run on game start andmake sure its under [General]4. If you already have "sStartingConsoleCommand" declared then add it like this "sStartingConsoleCommand=bat ShipDebris; bat SomeOtherModBat; bat ShellCasingsMedium"(Change ShellCasingsMedium to whatever variant you are using)Make sure you have Console Command Runner.
Default Values: (For anybody interested)
Shell Lifetime: 5
Shell Distance: 512
Max Shells: 25
If you can't see any casings:

Does this mod disable achievements?
As reported by user blitzattack456 it should not disable achievements. Regardless i would suggest you to use Baka Achievement Enabler (SFSE)

:)
Starfield uses CASELESS ammunition for every weapon. There are no CASINGS.
If anything this is more unrealistic

After testing it again there seems to be an issue with the ESM version. I think its not loading it as it should. For now use CCR version.
Make sure your game is fully updated. Including SFSE and plugins.txt enabler.I'm not gonna use the CCR.
ESM Version is out. Enjoy the mod :)
EDIT: Just checked and it works without CCR.

Some other mods like UI works good.
Somehow it still doesn't work for me. I want to die.
