Thanks for your endorsements and positive feedback regarding this tutorial.
I want to inform everyone that I will be publishing another document which will pick up where this one left off. There may have been quesitons that some have had regarding how to implement textures on newly placed window wall sections and frames (or other objects, for that matter), how to use the Advanced Map Editor (or Fast House & Ship Builder) to create, position, and size new instances of your creations, and how to identify the position and / or angle of an object.
I've learned how to locate and retexture .nif files that do not have a "Model" field listed in SF1Edit. You may have encountered such objects.
This next tutorial will explain all of these things (and possibly more).
Stay tuned, and know that I appreciate your interest in my ongoing work. Lots of great things to come!
Thank you so much for going to all this trouble. I want to start modding when the CK comes out, and I've already started a few simple mods, but SF1Edit isn't quite as forgiving as previous iterations, probably due to the new file structure issues Starfield comes with. Appreciate your hard work!
PDF format would be more accessible to people and would also guarantee that the content is shown correctly across different setups. Just export the document in PDF.
Good to know, you're welcome. I'll include that format from now on. If you see any mistakes, don't hesitate to let me know...I wrote this during several sessions of little / no sleep. :-)
Thank you so much for taking the time to type this up! This would have really helped me about a month ago when I spent so much time trying to figure out all this stuff. There were blanks I still had you filled in and I haven’t messed with nifscope yet and you helped with that so thank you so much! Excited to see what else you put out for tutorials as you learn that can also help me a great deal 😃 and thank you also for sharing it. Not many people wanted to help me learn they told me Google how to do it for Skyrim and start there and I never found the exact info I was looking for.
You're welcome, Lotus Flower! My pleasure. I can completely relate to encountering those who don't want to help. We must become impervious to such encounters, unfortunately they're inevitable. I'm glad that you have not given up and are learning as well. I think I'll focus my next document on renovating with the console command using the "Advanced Map Editor". I've never even placed an outpost beacon in this game yet, so I envy those who can wire up lights for their homes...I'm still attempting to learn whether or not it's possible to do this with the console. I've been told it is, in fact, possible.
Thanks for your kind words. Have a great day and chat any time.
