This might fix this for others, but I missed an install step for MO2 that breaks this mod. Make sure your profiles within MO2 are NOT using profile specific .ini files. If the ARE then you need to edit the .ini within MO2 and not the folder. Coincidentally, this fixed basically all my mods(only like 4 total). I am a fresh install, not a post patch victim.
I did a manual install on my steam version (windows 10), and the only thing the mod would do is remove the bethesda logo video - the copyright text, starfield logo, and motd were all still there.
After a lot of troubleshooting, I happened to find that the data\interface\mainmenu.swf file was being blocked by windows. Right clicked the file, selected properties, and down below there was a blurb saying that the file was blocked, and I had to check a box to unblock it. Example (not the actual file):
After doing so, the mod worked. I believe that this is the default windows defender behaviour for SWF files, as the shockwave flash file types can be used as payloads.
Something for others to check in their troubleshooting 👍
This makes exiting the game freeze for a few seconds for me. Sometimes up to 30 seconds before it exits. Any idea why this happens? (I installed manually and followed the instructions down to the letter)
edit: it also makes everything lag on the main menu and it comes in sharp spikes where nothing I do registers.
I installed using Vortex and it sayd the mod is enabled but nothing changed. Do I need to do someting else? The instructions are for manual install but I used Vortex, so?
If I launch the game with MO2, I still get the epilepsy warning page. If I bypass MO2 it works as expected. Any ideas on why? I am not using profile specific .ini files.
am i supposed to have a starfieldcustom.ini in both the game directory AND documents folder? the instructions are confusing me, because ive had my custom.ini in my documents folder since ive been using mods

Something similar to me: the mod works but I still get the epilepsy warning. I launch the game via Steam, though.
It works today... even if I changed nothing from yesterday. LOL Thanks anyway
