UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 6, 2023 Hey, guys. It's come to my attention that there are actually a lot of sounds that have this issue. I've identified pretty much all of them, but I don't want this mod to turn into feature creep. What I'm thinking I'll do is roll this out into its own mod and leave this one up. There are some cases where I think the sweeping frequency is fine and a bit more appropriate than mechanics you're meant to interact with constantly (like the scanner).
If you see a mod update with some files removed, don't worry. You won't have to download this and another mod. I'll likely just include all of my work in one package for you guys who are experiencing serious discomfort or annoyance hearing everything. It might also give me more liberty to replace the sounds in this mod with my own sound design.
INSTALLATION Download the provided files and place them in your \Data folder – or install with your mod manager of choice. This mod requires you to have two lines in your StarfieldCustom.ini file. A file has been provided for convenience.
The most annoying sound to me is the little tone/ding/"donk" it makes whenever you highlight resources like iron and lead. Any way that could be replaced with something else?
I switched to using ModOrganizer 2, re-installed all my mods. They all work. Until I get to sound mods, none of which I can get working. I feel like there is some kind of hidden secret to making this work? I even tried manually installing it to the \Documents\My Games\Starfield\Data\ folder, which also didn't work.
Yeah no idea why it won't work. I'm using one of DylanJames' other audio mods and it works fine (no takeoff music one) so there must be something off about this particular mod.
I would love a version where all the blips from mousing over resources, are replaced with the clicks from mousing over point of interest/companions. The clicks are pleasant while the blips, even after your work, just grate my nerves.

I will endorse and link to others.
I had been running my system audio thru a geq lol
Was gonna get around to fixing it properly, but looks like you've beaten me to the punch!
(I do have the correct Archive entries in my ini, and other mods are working)
