Hella fine work on these, DanishCrusader! THANK YOU for this mod! Endorsed and Kudos, friendo! o7 ♥
( I'm using the Updated version byxtcrefugee, and it's still working as advertised with Starfield Update 1.14.74, but I wanted to give you a biggyup for creating the original, hehe! ♥ :D )
They designed like this intentionally to suppress heterosexuality, not to mention all the main and side quests feature same sex couples. could you be any more obvious with the agenda lol
Thanks for the spreadsheet. I'll give it a go myself. But just to clarify, all we need to do is to extract the original mod from here. Then simply rename the folder and mesh file names with the new names from your spreadsheet, then reinstall it? That's it?
What if you just re-release this mod with the new naming temporarily until the original author updates this mod. Does that also against Nexus' rules?
I'm asking because there's a ton of folders and files to rename, and I don't want to be reinventing the wheel if someone already had them renamed.
Yes, that's what you do. So for example for "spacesuit_bountyhunter_02_torso_f.nif", you'd rename data\geometries\01b446d88142dd886da2\1cbad9a4fefd03403e66.mesh to data\geometries\4e9f9075a906b62805f0\09f8e395503aca5d18d6.mesh.
This is DanishCrusader's mod so no I'm afraid I wouldn't re-release it.
I'm taking a different approach and manually redirecting the nifs themselves to preclude this happening ever again. I'm copying over all the nifs themselves one suit at a time for the affected meshes and redirecting the geometry paths to FemaleSpacesuitRefit/(SuitName)/(HalfHashFolder)/(OtherHalfHashFile).mesh.
This way, they're neatly outside getting upended again. The downside is that the nifs themselves need to be touched now, but that's the price to pay to compartmentalize this mod from being upended again in the future. The nifs and mesh names are unaltered from the pre-1.11 upending so I just have to copypaste in the two new higher-up directories into the path. It's grunt work, but I've done plenty of grunt work for modding BGS games before...
If you're doing it that way, you could just copy the old nifs from 1.10.32.0. No need to rename any of the geometries then, they can stay as they are. Practically there's zero chance of a future update just happening to use the same path and filename. This was in my now (sadly) deleted guide. It does require that you saved the 1.10.32.0 mesh archives before updating though.
The file from Febuary 29th was making Andreja's suit have floating patches on the shoulder. Unsure about the latest one, but that's the one I was using.
Minor question/request: do you think it'd be possible to do an edit to the Mark 1 suit and Helmet to move the helmet neck brace to the suit itself? That helmet would go with so many other suits if it wasn't for that neck brace. If you don't have the time to do that, what guide would you recommend to do that for myself?
So, the section of the brace on the helmet tends to clip through other suits slightly. I attached a couple images of an extreme example from a modded suit (to be fair most vanilla helmets do this, but the Mark 1's is one of the more bulky examples) and an image of the section circled in red.
That's not vanilla armor, that is a mod armor. Anyway, if you want to fix that, you need Blender and the Starfield mesh plugin for it: https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/4360 Good luck.
Oh I know on that being modded armor. That was the most extreme example I had to show the overall issue. I get that to a lesser degree with the vanilla suits too (Varuun, the tracker alliance suit, and a couple others).
Yeah, I'm messing with that now actually. Guess I'll see how it turns out.

Thank you to DanishCrusader for permission.

I've tried using both the mod organizer 2.5.0 and manual install, but the changes to the spacesuits are not applying ingame.
You just unzip everything into the 'Documents\My Games\Starfield' folder.
