Figured I'd upload what I've done up till I stopped playing. it includes the modules I've said below (engine booster, 2 shields, crew increase modules (in +1, +8, +25, and +100)) as well as 2 diy variations of the ares, one has a centered pilot seat. I'll be removing the game from my system so there will be no further updates...as such anyone wanting to continue or build off of this mod has my full permission. ill try to check in occasionally just in case there are questions, but otherwise good luck and have fun people
Word of warning in case it's not obvious, don't use the decorator panel in the cockpit for anything you don't mind losing. It's fine for furniture and crafting tables because you can just put them back, but don't put down storage chests and store things in them. Because sometimes ships like to reset even if you haven't used the ship editor. And when it does everything you placed from the decorator panel will disappear.
Enyo, solo Phobos Variant Rogue, solo Armstrong variant Hunter, Viking variant with brig and 2 crew stations Ronin, solo Taiyo variant as well as stripped diy variants for the 4
Equipment includes:
Experimental fuel tank- found in fuel tanks (mounts to weapon points...looks, and functions as a lvl3 scan jammer)
All cockpits include decoration panels as well as-
250 grav fuel .25 lock time 600 cargo 300 shielded cargo 10 crew 10 passenger slots available everywhere for 1 credit
functional brig version includes: Hunter-8 prisoner slots in brig Rogue's surgical bed Enyo's surgical bed
if you run functional infirmaries the surgical beds are natively recognized, so bring rosie along or put her at an outpost and let her work remotely.
I’m sorry but since Christmas I’ve tried loading into this game multiple times only to realize as much as I’ve loved Bethesda games from the past I don’t have any real fun with this game…figured if I modded it to my liking I’d enjoy it more…but I don’t. Making mods for it could be fun but right now it’s not…add in the fact that they made it so confusing for non modders to actually install something to make it better to the point that most mod pages are mostly asking how to get them installed and working (got a few myself and even kept stickies at the top top of the pages” they made a game for modders to fix but made it so we couldn’t. I’ll check back on this game once they give me a reason to want to play it again…but honestly I’m not holding my breath. I don’t feel bad giving up on this game, but I do feel like I’ve let you guys down…I’m sorry but I just can’t deal with such a bad game. I’m not trying to discourage people who like it and if you want me to teach you how I’ve done stuff I will…but I currently am done with this game
If you work on this ever again, could you make a version where each cockpit has a brig in it? The Enyo is roomie enough for sure and the armstrong could have a one-man stand up cell or something. I love the bounty hunter vibe.
The brig builds were my favorites to work on actually..,even if fitting them into a cockpit was a challenge, hopefully I’ll get won back over by this game eventually.
Weirdest bug, sadly. I love this mod, was using it just fine. I loaded my save this morning (didnt change any thing or add any thing to game) and the cockpit of my ship was gone. I look in the ship builder and all your cockpits are gone. Now, no matter how I install them, they dont show up.
Thoughts, or this just some weirdness on my end only?
havent played in a while, has the game had an update recently? also possible got overwritten by another mod if youre running a large modlist, usually only an issue if adding new stuff but ive seen the game be overloaded with mods before and seem to randomly change which mods load...
Yeah the last thing you mentioned is classic bethesda lol. I do have way too many mods running. s#*!, i need to find out what is conflicting though because yours is a must! The BH cockpit with the brig in it is excellent.
you could try opening the mod in x-edit, if there's a game update sometimes all it needs is re-saving to fix it, I'd try for you, but I'd have to re-install the game....
EDIT!!! YESSSSS! Thanks for the advice on xedit! So i Googled "jail.esm" and it lead me to the functional brigs mod and now your mod works again! I am so effing happy lol.
Surely I must be doing something wrong, but ... for whatever reason, the modules absolutely DO NOT APPEAR in-game no matter what I try. Was there a specific perk I need to have? A specific vendor I need to talk to? Very confused by this.
I assumed as much ... is MO2 a preferable method? It's pretty much all I use with this game, but if I need to do a manual install for this one, I'm willing to do that. I genuinely adore these very straightforward edits of the existing modules, and very much want to use them. <3
PS. As a fellow modder (albeit for Cyberpunk 2077), I'd also just like to say that I have ENORMOUS respect for you continuing to check in and respond to questions on this modpage, even though you don't even have the game installed anymore. That's the kind of dedication to your projects and fans that can build entire communities around your stuff ... I should know, I speak from experience. Anyway. Absolutely amazing of you to do all this, especially so quickly and consistently. You're a rare sort! <3
my preferred method is mo2, uswe it for most games, only switching to vortex if re-installing a game and using collections on a fresh start (skyrim so far) with the occasional manual method for games that require it. Funnily enough been killing time in cyberpunk and have your vehicle pack installed...good stuff there and thank you for that as well as your kind words.
HOLY s#*! what are the odds?? Extremely happy you're enjoying it!! Hope the notorious bugs it has aren't giving you too much trouble ... but yeah! Thanks again <3
Did you ever solve this? I had this mod running fine but then it stopped working and now even on a full reinstall and re-modding of the game, it wont work.
Appreciate the great options. Since these seem to be the most customized cockpits made so far, I'm curious if you think it's possible sans-CK to increase visibility of cockpits? The Taiyo's seem the best but I wish they had more visibility below eye level.
It’s possible, would require modifying the mesh in blender, or possibly moving the pilot seat in certain cockpits could help. Before I stopped modding the game I was thinking about turning the observation deck from the derretech mod into a cockpit…all it would really need would be the pilot seat and correct keywords added
please please please make this useable thru vortex...im an absolute smooth brain when it comes to anything computers lol...only way i can mod without destroying my game is thru vortex...i would LOVE to use this mod tho...love the idea of using less space and getting more functionality out of it, as i play a bounty hunter of some sort in all my playthroughs
One of the stickied comments says if I'm updating to the newer version to do a "clean install" to disable the mod, load in and save, then install it fresh. But what if the cockpits if used as my current cockpit on my ship when I load in disabled? Does that break the game / save? After I install the new version, will my ship be broken or will the Cockpit work without me doing anything in game?
if you do the clean reinstall you will lose your current cockpit, not game breaking unless currently in your ship, will just have to add it back. don't leave anything in its storage because it will be lost. also as an aside it may not be necessary to do the clean reinstall, the only thing it tends to mess up is the brig doors in the hunter, and since im not updating the mod anymore, it may not even do anything between the 4 versions if youre just changing to the functional brigs version-ect.
The only files that would need display stuff are the 2 add on patches, you can use any of the 4 main files and the male mannequin patch if you want that feature added
Sad to see you go. Your cockpit versions are, imo, better than the vanilla ones. Thanks for sharing your mods with the community and maybe Bethesda will realize their golden egg is covered in crap atm and will fix it! Till then, stay safe in the star lanes.

this is usable with vortex. I do use it thru vortex
Anyway - Hope you find the enjoyment factor you're looking for and take care of yourself!
Well hopefully when the CK drops and a few DLCs shake stuff up you can test out the waters again. Thanks for your work! Essential mods in my book! :)
