Can you explain better the difference between the emissive and permanent versions? By emissive (seeing as you're considering emissive to be non-permanent) do you mean something along the lines of 'only glows when you're flying the ship' or something?

Default ones I made are blinking. See video. Optional ones are always on! They always glow if you choose optional meshes!

I installed this through Vortex, and I load up the game, I don't see the modules? Unless I am not looking right?

Hmm vortex sometimes messes up files, but maybe ship vendor doesnt have parts? Try outpost ship builder

Give me an ITEM code for the console, for one of the modules, let me see if it exists

Type "help glow" and it should list them 😁

    Hey Inquisitor,

So I decided the best fix for my earlier issue was to sell the ship (Normandy). After that, build a new one and ship builder works just fine lol

You probably already have this in the works, but I can't wait to see what you do with the Deimos Radiator spines :D

Its just a suggestion, as I've never created a mod before. I wanted to throw it out there to test the water and see if you had considered adding it to your collection ;)

Ermargerd! It just dawned on me: Is it possible for you to make the engine hues different too!? I cant believe they didn't give us more engine flame/trail colors.

Nice. Either way, I appreciate this mod. I still cant believe it was left out of vanilla. How could they not think people would want glowing lights? Baffling. Or engine color change.

I take it the engines were a pain in the D?
Regardless, you are killin it with these updates! ALL of my many, many ships have some sort of glowing component now.

Engines have REFL data and I am scared to edit them :/
Thanks very much man! I will add more... but its time consuming man, each color is one new module.. like adding brand new stuff. Then rotating them... fkn hell its so much stuff. And I want to add new ones, tails, other wings, reactors... new modules also, as you can see my Blender failure...

Well, I appreciate it a lot.
Oh and btw, failure? Ha! no. Failure is me trying to use nifskope on dozens of mods to fix them and only getting ONE to work successfully. lmfao.

    Hi -

Will you be adding the new parts to the Permanent glow version?  You have it one or the other - not both.

    Cheers

      Hey Dorsa!

It's a bit different now :( In order to make blinking glow to all these modules I would need to add 80 new objects, or make only nifs like at start... but idk if its worth it :/ and IDK how new modules would go with blinking :/

      Cheers!

HI - I was a bit confused on response.

      a. Glowing Ship Modules 1.6 Adds 21 NEW Modules  (this is the blinking mod and has the new mods - are they mixed now?)

      b. Pernament Glow Version - USE ONLY ONE  (I use this one that does not blink)  (I was asking if the new parts would be added here too)

If the first one has both that is fine. Just would like clarification.

      Cheers

No worries, blinking is only for deimos c wings, i didnt do blinking for any other modules, basically you can download first version of the mod and replace only deimos c ones, first 8 nifs.

Not sure what's my issue here, but I tried to replace the 8 nifs for permanent glow Deimos Wing C to version 1.6 update and it causes a CTD. My personal vote goes to permanent glow over emissive.

Update: I've tried numerous attempts to get this to work, including nifskope and alternate versions. The ship builder keeps CTD when clicking Accept after modification, but I discovered it was affecting one particular ship consisting of many parts and large in size. However, I'm able to edit and save smaller ships in my inventory. Starting from NG+ will hopefully resolve whatever conflict my game is experiencing with the ship builder and my updated mods list.

I explained it a bit bad, i think i will remove the optional now because majority of modules are perma glow anyway :/

Deimos wing c orange, blue, red, white can be swapped to be perma glow or blink, all others are perma.

The way i did it before i had only nifs in optional file, i didnt think i would update optional files.

TL DR: safest to use now is to install only main file. And if you really want perma glow on deimos c wings, download manually, extract, and copy paste and overwrite only 8 nifs that are for deimos c wings, you will see them, sort by name.

      I hope i helped a bit 😅

      Hey Inquisitor!

For starters, I don't believe your mod is at fault. I can replicate the CTD with or without your mod and different versions. I think the issue is that I updated with my huge ship that had existing glowing modules attached. I can edit other ships, but this ship in particular causes a crash if I try to edit it in any way. Still love your mod and will continue to build with it, thank you! :D

I do wish the permanent glow files were the default main file and emissive be the optional file. I prefer the constant glow and I'm unable to use the permanent files to replace in the v1.6 because they haven't been updated yet. I've tried to use it in game and I'm able to see the parts and attach them to my ship, but as soon as I hit Accept I get CTD.

      Hello! Thanks!

My priority is to make existing modules more glowy, like you can see on images, if i learn modeling a bit more, then maybe 😊

Thanks for adding more glowing parts.
My ship is now a space cuttlefish! love it. The enemies can see me coming and they're confused as to the proper response to an inbound ship that goes: "blink blink blink blink warning blink DEATH!"

I love this mod. Cannot get it to work with the update. It really sucks.  This might be my favorite mod.

Parts show up in the list, so I know it's loaded. But they do not render when selected. Even the preview has no glow.

EDIT - Found the problem, and it is dumb. But I am leaving this post up in case any other newbies come across it because it is a critical part of using mods for this game. You MUST include a text file in the Starfield folder (the same one with Starfield.exe) that has the following lines in it. You must then rename that .txt file to "StarfieldCustom.ini". This is like a key that tells Starfield that you want to use mods. Most mods will not work until you do this. This is what needs to be in that file (just copy/paste of you want):

Nevermind...it was a dumb mistake by me. Your mod works fine. I re-installed and forgot to replace the StarfieldCustom.ini file. Once I did that, everything worked. Your mod is wonderful. Thank you.

I mentioned in a post white ones are strange. I tested 4 materials, either they dont show, or they are bright, i left the one that glow harder..
