I was previously using Hide Boost Pack https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/2816, but I didn't like that every boost pack in the game was also hidden.
While, of course, it would be preferable to make so only the player character's boost pack was invisible, making all of the boost packs of a certain model is much better than making EVERY boost pack invisible.
So, excellent work!
Maybe you could team up with the author of the Transmog mod to make a skin that could be applied to a boost pack.
That would be a bit redundant at this point since I'm trying to figure out how to make a standalone boostpack instead of a replacer. I have all the filed I need I just need to figure out how to do the boostpacks specifically in the CK.
Did this mod break after the release of the dlc or did I just do something wrong? I installed with vortex and selected all of the packs but they're all still visible
The mod should still work and it works on my end. I'm still trying to figure out how to make this a standalone thing instead of replacing the existing boostpacks.
My mantis boostpack didn't turn invisible after installing this mod to Mod Organizer 2, selecting Mantis, and activating the mod. What am I doing wrong?
There should not be anything wrong. You are using MO2 though instead of Vortex, that might be the problem. Make sure you have the mod activated and installed correctly, or try installing it manually.
I just tested out the mod on my end today and everything worked as it should. Perhaps you could try to unequip and reequip the pack. Past that I'm not sure what the problem is.
Something is off. When using the Sense Star Stuff Starborn Skill, some enemies show a huge rhombus with an exclamation mark inside. After uninstalling this mod everything is back to normal. This rhombus with the exclamation mark is Bethesda's way to mark anything that has some error, mostly a mesh problem. Can't be a texture issue, they show up glowing purple but might be different with the sense star stuff power.
Maybe you need to look into this again and also add the FX meshes for sense star stuff and possibly also for Starborns (Emissary and the Hunter especially) when they go invisible. Normal Starborn Guardians can also go invisible. Haven't tested this tho, not sure if the error will occur there too.
The enemies where the error shows up all have Boostpacks equipped. Enemies without a boostpack don't show the issue. To test this you can go to an Ecliptic base, as they almost all have boost packs equipped. Spacers and Pirates can have packs, but also might not have any. Last test i did was at an Muybridge Facility with an Outlaw Captain that had some beef with a bunch of Zealots. The Captain had no pack and about 50% of the Zealots neither. They showed up normal and OK, the other Zealots with packs had the exclamationmark while using sense star stuff. Unfortunately i don't have screenshots. Also the exclamation mark is only visible in a certain range. If you snipe enemies from far away you might not see it, so go up close and personal. Verified that all files were where they should be, so installation is definitely not an issue. Don't have any other mod that could interfere or overwrites the same files. I only use one self written mod that changes the durations of the Starborn powers. To be sure nothing interferes there i also tested without it. As it is only overwrites it was safe to remove and nothing is baked into the save game file. Same result. I haven't tested on a fresh save game, but purely based on the nature of the issue i expect the same outcome. Your files are not baked into the save game so there is no difference or anything to look out for and it wouldn't make a difference if installed mid-game or on a new save. Hope that gives you enough pointers to find the issue.
What boostpack did you enable the mod on? I sadly have not had much time to play the game as of late and have not encountered the problem mentioned. I am also very new to modding, so I may or may not be able to fix this. Thank you for pointing this out though.
Let me see if I understand this correctly. The issue ONLY shows up when using the "show star stuff" power, and it only happens with enemies correct? I don't use the starborn powers, so I was unaware of the issue.
Edit: Tested it out in game, and I do see what you are talking about. That is really odd. I used the Mantis pack as a base from the N7 starborn retexture mod and simply renamed the files. If I'm having these issues I'm willing to bet that mod has the same issues. I might look into this to see what I can do with nifscope, but I sadly cannot promise a fix.
Pretty cool! However something I have been wishing for and would absolutely LOVE if it were possible, would be some sort of toggle to do the opposite. Basically, to show the boost pack ALL the time, including when the space suit is hidden.
Reason being, you can't see your weapons on your back when the boost pack is hidden.
I sadly don't have the skillset or knowledge to do that. It should be possible though since it automatically toggles if you have one equipped with no space suit on.
