2024 January 28 - I may still update occasionally, but have no further plans with any of my mods except Books Revamped, Better NPCs, Starlit - A Starfield Mod List, and a fourth unnamed project, so you have my explicit permission to do what you want with this one.
Permissions are wide open, steal it, sell it, use it in your own mod, I don't care. There's literally nothing else I can do with this. I just haven't seen anyone post it and it does help.
Since at least Skyrim, Bethesda's always had enemies drop their weapons on death. While that looks cool visually, the weapons never despawn if you don't pick them up and can lead to unnecessary save bloat. This keeps the weapon in the enemy inventory on death, not on the ground, so if you don't grab the weapon it will despawn with them.

Here is an old thread dating back to 2012 that references the problem. It wasn't fixed in Skyrim or Fallout and it's not fixed in Starfield. @Bethesda re: iDeathDropWeaponChance
