10.25.24 the non shattered space version is available. previous version may or may not work. if they don't let me know and i will remove them. should have a dlc version available later after class. 6.11.24 THIS MOD WORKS FINE WITH THE 1.2.30 UPDATE
6.4.24 unlocked all of the old versions - couple files still archived but they are of no use
5.31.24 it seems bethesda fixed the items without vanilla id's cant be stored in containers issue. so all weapons with new weapon mods can now be kept and stashed.
6.1.24 some leveled list fixes and fixes in general, especially to some ship bonuses new ammo spawns many more places, and vendors now carry all of it in various sizes
NEW RULE - ALWAYS GET NAKED BEFORE activating or UPGRADING SCARFIELD VERSIONS :) new players, only get naked if you want too
answer - why get naked. because if you wear something which has stat changes, and you activate scarfield things can get really bad funky for you so naked is playing it safe for you and your player file
I can out of my little shell with starfield. I have quickly said NOPE and am now back in my shell
Scarfield is truly fantastic. As you say, it may not be for everyone in its totality, but it sure is for me. You've delivered a visceral, balanced, strategic experience that actually scales. And the space combat! My god. It was incredible.
Now to see if I can get the full experience working correctly with the latest game update and Shattered Space.
After a week running Scarfield and the Modular Compendium on Starfield v1.14.70.0 through enough of the base game for Shattered Space to make sense, I'd say I'm getting generally-positive mixed results. It definitely needs an update, but it's worth noting that the game is a lot more stable with Scarfield than without.
Key features of the Scarfield experience are partially broken by the v1.14.70.0 update. The brilliant and hilarious inverse difficulty scaling is just gone. Vanilla handicap-based difficulty scaling reasserted, strategic difficulty appearing intermittently, but so far has only worked correctly in Oceans of Blood. Custom visuals and effects also broken, and inconsistent when they do appear. Hostile level scaling, enemy numbers, and distribution of legendary to regular hostiles seems correct... most of the time. I've been getting absurdities like every-enemy-is-a-legendary-bullet-sponge (even heatleeches and xenogrubs, which are squishy slimy worms physically-incapable of bearing armor) but with correct distribution of loot lists, making some unbearably difficult fights offer a true pittance of a reward.
Not sure why, but Scarfield also seems to be responsible for it being impossible to purchase vehicles, and Sam Coe disappearing into oblivion, making it impossible to progress in the main quest. I can't stand Sam Coe anyway, so I'm happy to see him gone, but sad I can't actually finish the main questline and get to the Unity without using a cheat.
Sure glad the Scarfield equipment updates all seem to be working correctly. Otherwise it would simply be impossible to play given the specific Scarfield-features that have been broken by the latest update.
I'd love to see this updated. Even with all that's been broken, it's still the best overhaul of them all.
i have sort of swore starfield off - some of the nexus modders are just take everything want and hold up a middle finger. and modding in general since i am in school. i've been waiting for the github xedit to have a new version up but that seems hopeless. pretty sure im banned off their discord for probably something stupid half a decade ago or more (being un-medicated for 47 years was bad - last 2.5 years, i wish i lived my whole life this way). i'll see if i cant get a copy of xedit and look into it this weekend. ive had shattered space since the release on sept 1st.
I get it. I've been plagiarized. I've been living with PTSD for over 20 years, myself. And while not every plagiarist I've had to deal with has been an outright and obvious dark-triad personality type, every one of them at least adopted a pretense of the same belligerent dismissiveness and entitlement. I'd be surprised if you hadn't felt a need to swear off Starfield and modding in general as a result. It sure sounds a lot like how I responded, how I let my own dream die.
I suppose I'm hoping you don't. Though I'll be the first to admit the tooling is a huge problem. It's not like I haven't been trying to release my own mods, but my own vision might be too specific to accomplish with the Creation Kit, and xEdit has been nothing but a problem to me even before it broke completely.
I don't think you could offend me if you tried. That's the thing about PTSD, whether classic or complex, it's so completely reactive it keeps you honest. I just didn't want to overburden you with unrelated details, so suffice it to say, I used to run a quantum computing company, I attracted the attention of many plagiarists, most of them actual dark triad psychopaths. I had many opportunities to save my start-up and vindicate myself, but the fact remains, I shouldn't have had to. Fast-forward to today: after my company folded, I wasn't getting much satisfaction out of being a full-time open source developer, so I've been trying to break into gaming by writing mods, but the tooling is so bad compared with what I'm used to my progress feels like wading through quicksand. So I wanted to convey that I respect your work both for its intrinsic quality, as well as for seeing it through to implementation despite the tooling-deficiencies. It's a bigger deal than you might realize.
Not sure why Nexus only notified me yesterday about your new Scarfield update, but I gotta say, v1.20 is slick. Brand new game to level 200 in one sitting on Extreme mode, but damn you made me earn it. I bailed on Constellation at the first opportunity and then made a beeline for the Oceans of Blood terrormorph Red Mile challenge. It was a lot tougher this time, too, with every terrormorph in the crater coming after me instead of me having to hunt them all down. I got some pretty excellent obligatory-body-pile screenshots, especially on that steep hill right below the tower where I got ambushed on the way back from the marker. But after my glorious victory, I jumped the walls and went hunting wild terrormorphs, and they were even tougher and meaner. I wound up blowing myself up more than a few times, trying to find the right balance of bringing in the big guns to even-out the playing field versus repeatedly getting ripped to shreds during reload.
Really looking forward to what you can do with the vortex horrors and phantoms, and Va'ruun'kai in general. Like I posted on fedi, there is no Starfield like Scarfield.
be naked before you start it in case something you wear gets a stat change and it doesnt torch your character file.
what ever ships you have you may wanna get rid of, ships get changed a wee bit. really if you do i would put it in at the nexus and not just mid game so it starts right
well the unity restart is just as good. mid game is iffy because you already have so much stuff and it will change so much of that and you will be in overload saying wtf is all this s#*!
unity and new start are both gradual hey this is cool sort of things. and if you start it mid game at like level 100. ouch
amongst other things peak alters all npc level scaling if peak stuck to simple ai changes it would be different but they cram a great deal of stuff into one file and call it an ai change which of course interferes with scarfield, which also alters some ai stuff especially in regards on how npcs behave zerging in combat so blame who ever wrote peak ai and not me
This mod really does make them difficult and fun when combat but the increase in weapon power made them easy to kill as well. I played in extreme mode, and I can pile up every one of them in couple of shots. Fire and Electric really do kill them off easily. Space battle was no exception. I played using the default Scarfield mode and not the extreme version. I guess I'll check that out.
there is a big difference between you being level 50 and you being level 200 also, cause the hp/damage modifiers for npcs really stack up after ng3 or 4 - not even sure very easy difficulty is playable for any length
sorry, im slow, i dont frequent here much and for some reason it didnt send me an email
if dark universe only changes the addition of new space events then yes it works fine. and just load it after this one
but if it starts changing ships and such there could be calamity. i dunno. i have been waiting for a new xedit, but the latest bethesda patches have went out of their way to utterly destroy xedit usage
it is very imitated. some people didnt even bother to remove all of the green reference rips out of the mods they made with it or the ever popular adds new weapon, same new weapon comes out next day lots of people renovate but they never innovate that was why i gave up and left. i have no desire to feed ideas to people who have none
Do you mean that I can't pick up or purchase ammunition everywhere like vanilla weapons? So how do I know which specific weapons dealers can buy it from? or specific loot lists?
uh. you are pushing memory buttons that have been gone a while
well. some of the robots for sure have a variety i think 2 factions can, and some out of the plain leveled lists for ammo
damn. i dont even remember the name of the towns. um the asshole in the big city with the graffiti robot can sell some - but i dont think the weapons dealers is a full 100% every time well some ammo is 100%, others not so much. in hindsight this was a mistake
and i dont remember if one or 2 of the dealers in the old west town can. at least one can the starborn trader, what ever her name is, can probably sell some, i loved her.
additionally, and I loved these the most, were the space traders you can sit above most of the planets with an abundance of trades, hit them all, reset the system and keep buying all sorts of stuff those are actually the best merchants in game since they have such a variety
apologies but like i said this is pushing brain cells that have already been replaced by something else
because i never got around to asking for a starfield.esm item mod id set before i left. maybe it is fixed now, im not sure. in a nutshell, if you try to store a modified item inside a container and it doesnt have a modded item reference from starfield.esm, bad things can happen to the item
i have to ask is everything working on in the may patch for scarfield. im having a lot of issues even getting stuff functional. i will see if the references have been fixed yet
after a quick test with the ship storage and captain storage on the frontier, it would seem they have fixed it, so these weapons can now be stored in containers.
What happened to your Red Mile mod? I finally gave it a try. Everything is great! Except .... each time I killed a Terramorph I gained 5000xp. I gained 20 levels getting through Red mile. The xp is a bit too fast. But the Terramorphs don't seem to hit very hard for lvl 325 something.

i have missed something really big but im not sure what
yea im 51, lived with cptsd since i was 14. so yes i understand neurodiveregence.
i'd rather wipe my entire hard drive than plagiarize anything
as for starfield. i put months of love into it but i just can't bring myself to play it any more.
so i feel like i have offended you but im not sure how
