Good luck getting an answer to this question. I asked another modder and got no response. As modders, we should share knowledge with each other. Anyway, my guess is he probably made a duplicate copy of the Starfield.esm renamed, deleted every record except the planet data entries. Since we can't duplicate the planet data to a new .esm, it seems it's the only way. But I could be wrong.
Imagine someday someone can port Fallout 4 map into Starfield and turn Earth into a post apocalyptic world . You can land your ship on America continent and start a fight with the Brotherhood of steel for example.
Would it be possible to edit Nesoi to have the Alternate Earth 01 biome? I've tried it myself in xedit, but I can never get it to work. I'm most interested in the area around the player home. It's supposed to be the "dream home", but the biome is that ugly, burnt looking crap. That Alternate Earth 01 biome you created, looks very close to areas of North Eastern America.
This is possible, I've been playing around with it a little, it's only the biome the Dream Home is in though not the other biomes on Nesoi, changing those will affect other biomes elsewhere in the game, and the biome change won't necessarily match or blend well with other biomes/life on Nesoi. There are lots of placed trees, shrubs, and other things in the area surrounding the Dream Home though that need finding in xEdit so they can be adjusted to match with the replacement biome, it would look odd otherwise but might take a while. How attached are you to it being the Alternate Earth 01 biome? as I'm experimenting with a couple of ideas :)
I like the Alternate Earth 01 biome best due to it being a pretty close representation of the woods where I live. I didn't try the others, but anything would be better than what the default biome looks like.
Great looking mod Ktastic. I seem to be having an issue getting it installed correctly.
I downloaded version 2. Placed the string files into the /data/strings folder and placed the esm into the data folder. I also updated my Plugins.txt file (located in C/Users/Me/AppData/Local/Starfied (?) with the *AlternateEarth2.esm line.
I am assuming this should be how it goes at it's similar to other mods?
I also tried just using Vortex to install it. Apparently, I am missing something. When I visit Earth after the install, everything is still Sandy Desert. :P
Any help when someone gets time would be great. Thank you!
All this time, I've been messing with the plugins text file, i actually NAMED IT Plugins.txt.... instead of just making a text file called plugins....Lemme see what happens....
Hi, did you manage to get it working? It should be *AlternateEarth02.esm that you add to your Plugins.txt file not *AlternateEarth2.esm, do you have any other plugins installed and working? is plugins.txt enabler installed/working ok? hopefully one of these things helps or that you've already managed to get things working :)
Thanks for the reply! I do not have it working yet... I've got the Class M Piloting and Community Patch installed as well, those appear to be working fine.
I placed the esm in the main data folder: steam/steamapps/common/starfield/data
I've placed the three string files into the data folder/string folder
my plugins text file has *AlternateEarth02.esm on it which is found in my users/me/AppData/Local/Starfield folder
My question is, my plugins text file is called ''plugins'' and is a text file. Does it need to be renamed to ''Plugins''? Or does it actually have to be saved as Plugins.txt? I might be a bit confused by that... lol That is the only thing I can think that would be stopping the mod?
My file is named Plugins and is a text file, the .txt is the file type extension, you may or may not see the .txt depending if file extensions are hidden or not in your file explorer settings. It sounds like everything is in the right places, do you use the gamepass version of the SFPluginsTxtEnabler.asi or the SFSE version? Have you read the comments on the Plugins.txt Enabler page for installation help? I know some people have had problems with installation. Good luck, hope you manage to get it sorted, make sure you're using the right asi loader for the game version you're running, that's what happened to me initially, I tried a different version and it worked fine :)
Well, you'll be happy, or not, to know, i got it working.... lol I don't know what i did that i didn't already try, but I installed via Vortex then just added the esm line to the plugins file and ..... it worked... lol
One idea I had was to have Earth have plants and stuff but there's a gas that's toxic to humans. Explains why we left but it keeps it looking beautiful. And then later modders can add cities we can explore on Earth while wearing gas masks and maybe even fight against humans who were turned to zombies by the gas. Just ideas to make the world more interesting!
Thanks, hopefully Earth is a more appealing place to spend time now :)
I don't know what would be involved adding more options to NG+ variations, hopefully when the CK releases it'll provide an easy way to add more options/possibilities for NG+ variety, this game needs as much variety as possible to keep playthroughs interesting and different, I look forward to seeing the variety of mods available a year or two from now.

I assume that it will take the CK to enable those alternate earths on in NG++ ?
