The best way to install mods is to use a Mod Manager. I recommend Mod Organizer 2
But if you insist, you can install manually using Plugins.txt Enabler. Instructions in the spoiler below.

Normally the install for Starfield is here: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield. If you've installed somewhere else, then just make sure to change the paths.
Install Companions And Crew - Biometric ID Presets: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\Data\CompanionsAndCrewBioIDs.esm C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\Data\Scripts\AUR\CompanionBioIDHandler.pex C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\Data\Scripts\Source\User\AUR\CompanionBioIDHandler.psc (this file is not actually needed for the mod to work. I always give my source code if others want to use it.)
Install Starfield Script Extender (SFSE) C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\sfse_1_7_36.dll C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\sfse_loader.exe - Use this to launch the game.
Install Plugins.txt Enabler - SFPTE-1_1 (SFSE-1_7_36) C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starfield\Data\SFSE\Plugins\SFPluginsTxtEnabler.dll Use Windows Key + R %LOCALAPPDATA%\Starfield That should take you to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Starfield In that folder should be plugins.txt # This file is used by Starfield to keep track of your downloaded content. (You HAVE to keep a # on the first line here) *MySpecialMod.esm *Custom Plugin With Spaces.esm *UnlimitedSprint.esm *CompanionsAndCrewBioIDs.esm
Does this still work? With the CK now out, could you make it so we can just force companions in to Enhance's Chargen menu without the use of altering your character and swapping back? If so is this on the cards, like some SF LooksMenu?
I DESPERATELY want to change the looks of some of my followers, but I am a complete luddite and I do not trust myself with this... I do not even understand it, even reading directions in the description a dozen times.
Thank you! This is a great mod, I have Sarah looking fantastic! I might even ask her out. LOL!
Can someone help me find where her and Andreja's Bios are stored? I'd like to try and save them before Bethesda's next update or if my rig should crash and burn. Thanks
@all if you are just getting the basic 40 presets. The way I fixed this in Vortex is I clicked on the deploy mods button on the orange ribbon at the top of the mods window. It seems like some mods may not be deploying when a mod is first installed as I've had this happen with more than just this mod.
Be sure to make sure you have a plugins.txt file in user/your computer name/AppData/Local/Starfiled with this line in it. *CompanionsAndCrewBioIDs.esm.
FYI I use Plugins.Txt Manager and did have to put the * before CompanionsAndCrewBioIDs.esm. in the txt file in order for it to show up in Plugins.Txt Manager, YMMV. Hope this helps.
My edits have persisted for Sarah, Andreja, and Autumn MacMillan. But for some reason NPC Crew Rosie Tannehill maintains the face edits but the skin tones don't persist. So I guess the answer is.. sometimes?
Unfortunately, my abilities to get this working are being challenged. Currently, I cant see any presets, and it won't allow me to enter or exit the consol commanded chargen screen so I have to restart the game each time. I am looking for any advice that would help me over come these issues. I am guessing I have placed a file incorrectly somewhere or missed a line of script that allows this to work correctly.
I am running Mod Org 2; PTM; LOOT; SFSE; CCR
Please keep in mind as well I am running 134 mods :). (Skyrim SE had over 500 when I Retired it, Fallout 4 was similar.)
Hi, not sure if this is with this mod or CharGen but I have edited Sarah but everytime I open the game her freckles and cosmetics are gone and I have to reapply the preset I made for her. Any ideas?
Not sure about this, doesn't this line (00005986.capp) transfer my character's appearance to Sarah? Then if it starts at the beginning of the game Sarah would look like me.
uw! if u do this command from main menu technically u have no character so its just refreshes sarah lol also u can do it with every companion who has same issue just replace their ref id
Alright, so a little update on this method; I found out it's only working on Constellation Companions (even when I type bat refresher on the console during the game, it only affects the CC), any ideas why this is happening?
I've actually had issues with You? having no skin tints quite often without ever changing the appearance. I do think it is a vanilla bug. My Unity self has had the same issue even if I've never used the copy appearance command. It kind of reminds me of the Fallout 4 brown face bug....
Anyway, I was able to fix it on the fly by opening console, clicking on You? and then just using the command capp

Great tutorial btw.
or u can make bat file so that there is no need to use console on every launch :
make a txt file with whaterever name, lets call it refresher, put there: 00005986.capp
than put in stafiledcustom.ini lines
[General]
sStarting Console Command=bat refresher
delete spaces between StartingConsoleCommand
this should fix issue
omg, nevermind, you're right! thanks!
if u do this command from main menu technically u have no character so its just refreshes sarah lol

File refresher.txt work only on companion constellation.
Different companion, are reset after restart game
