Only for Place Doors Yourself (PDY) version 1

I will temporarily post small patches and tweaks from the community compatible with this mod here. Later we will decide what is worth publishing as optional files and what is not.

    2.0.5
    Check ChangeLog.

I think there is no need to explain in detail how to use large ladders, everything is intuitive. This is exactly what the shipbuilder should do when he is not making a mistake: remove the 2x ladders above, and replace the lower one with 3x or 4x or 5x.
Between consecutively installed Crosspassages/HopeSpines it is now necessary to install a Passway, otherwise the interior walls between them will not be removed. Also, if you attach the Cockpit to the HopeSpine, you also need to add a Passway between them. Test it.
The "design" of the menu (recipes) is temporary. This is due to a bug with the list implementation in shipbuilder. As new items are added (and I have great ideas) I will move them to the main recipe.

    2.0.4 testing
Version without HAB cloning, does not require compatibility patches.

    What's new in 2.0.4

    • The creation of passages and the installation of doors between HABs, Crosspassages and Portholes has been globally disabled. Attention! The windows are closed and so are the Crosspassages! You have to install Passway (or.... read on ) between HAB and Porthole/Crosspassage yourself.
    • STBH (Snap Template Behavior) has been completely rewritten, these are the rules that control the replacement of objects, in this case when opening passages and installing doors. I could have made a mistake somewhere, please let me know immediately if an incorrect passage has been created between some compartments.
    • Added Doors for the "other side"! In vanilla there are only Stbd and Fore doors. This means that the door object is always located in the HAB near the Stbd or Fore wall. Now you can put the Port and Aft Door. LOL.

So. Now you can place doors on both sides of the Crosspassage (in vanilla this is impossible to do, since the door object cannot be placed inside the Crosspassage, there are simply no objects in it that should be replaced by the Door, but now you can place Doors "in adjacent compartments" ). You can also close the Porthole with a door   Top and Bottom Portholes are also closed, although there is no “door” for them, but maybe someone will find a suitable door in the game, and I will add it. Of course, you can just put Passway/Hole.
Hope Sipe == Crosspassage. In vanilla, Deimos, Stroud and Nova HAB install the door towards Hope Spine (but Hope and Tayio do not). This door could not be reliably removed with Passway. Now this is not a problem, you yourself decide to install a Door or Passway, and on which side.

It is very important for me to know whether the global rework of STBH affects other ships in the game! I haven't received any feedback on version 2.0.3+ yet. Please, write to me. You can also write to me in discord, for example, on this server, in this quiet corner. It’s also convenient to send screenshots on Discord (no need to post them somewhere first). I'm waiting for your feedback.

Just in case, after installing the new version, make a minimal modification of the ship.

Do not change my Global Variables in game (via console). This will lead to the destruction of the internal cell after restarting the game. Yeah. When the game restarts, the shipbuilder starts and checks your ships, and at this moment it does not even have access to Global Variables, or rather, it only has the value specified in the mod itself. Basically, don't touch them.

The shipbuilder menu item is glitchy. This is such a vanilla implementation (due to the fact that the third paragraph has only two elements). I will fix this in the next version.

Trying this mod for the first time after reinstalling, but a little confused/curious about something. Obviously the "fore" or "aft" versions of doors reference where they're being placed in relation to the hab it's being attached to, but is there a functional difference? Would it matter if I put the "aft" version on a hab's fore attach point or vice versa?

The door just opens the opposite way. Only when using it to connect a crosspassage with a hab, be sure to place the door on the outside of the passage, otherwise it won't show up.
I suggest you try it out on a test ship. Create a ship with two or three habs and place some doors, louvres, portholes, ladders, etc....
When using a porthole, be sure to make first a passway in the place where you want to create the porthole, otherwise it won't work.

Yes. The actual door is an object that is installed in one of the ship's modules. The doorway between the modules is actually two doorways, and you can control which doorway the door will be installed in, and in which direction it will open (the last point has not yet been completed, there is only one option for each side ).

Also find this picture in the discussion earlier, there you will find some description.

I can't find the "modded" habs.

How do I make them appear?

If you are using the newer version, that one doesnt add new habs. It just allows the normal habs to work.  If you see the option at the top of the Habs menu to create doors, you have the mod. You just place doors where you need them on existing habs.

Hi my fellow ship building enthusiasts,

I have updated v2.0.6beta for personal use up until the mod author returns to development, or somebody else takes over.
No changes were made other than using Starfield .nif Mesh Path Migration Tool

This is not my mod and not my work - so I can't help you or support you with problems. It works perfectly fine for me installing manually through Vortex.

You can disable the current PDY and click on "Install from File" in Vortex and select the .zip file downloaded.

This was the FIRST mod I installed, and is the ONLY one I can't live without!  With many ship mods being broken at the moment, I can use the new vanilla habs to get by (and try out) until mod authors get a chance to get their mods updated (I know this will take time, and is appreciated).  But none of it works well without this mod!

Thank you JimSoon for creating this mod, and thank you Skons for the band-aid!

      Awesome!  Thank you!

It really makes it hard to build ships of any size without this.

What a great mod this is!

Does this fix the PDY caps having gone invisible?

EDIT: Seems it does! Thank you!

Wont work for me. I removed the original PDY from vortex. Dropped the zip file over into vortex, installed/enabled. Enabled plugins in vortex.

Thats all that you had to do to make it work?
I know you cant help trouble shoot, but just want to confirm i didnt miss a step.

Edit: I was looking for the habs with the description saying its without doors. The mod worked as soon as i used a door placement on the basic habs. Thanks for the update! cant believe bethesda's "Best update" didnt include this but gave us empty habs. Thanks!!

Indeed yes. I did not change anything with the mod, other than making it compatible with the last update.

The zip is the complete mod. My suggestion would be to do basic troubleshooting steps. Check your load order, reinstall the mod etc.
Happy to try and help you - just understand that I have very little knowledge of the inner workings of this mod.

I can't get your version to work. I have purple doors and missing Habs. I've updated to ne stable version and updated everything else. I understand mods need to be updated for the current version, but i was hoping your version at least worked with the latest stable.

      @Skons

So this fix of yours is for the recent Starfield Update 1.11.36. Gotcha. Hella nice.

      Question:
Have you also made the new update's newly added feature 'Empty Habs' compatible with your fix; meaning, are the doors/ladders working with the new Empty Habs, with your fix?  EDIT: Yep, they work! (  * 3*)

Gonna try out your temp fix! THANK YOU for this, you rock, and Kudos!!  ♥ \o/
And hopefully JimSoon is still around for an update. I'm still hella appreciating that guy for making this mod!!  ♥ ♥ ♥ :)

LOL, after I updated my game to 1.11.36, I started a fresh/new playthrough (not an NG+; starting from scratch), and I been trying to stick to vanilla as much as possible, to see if I can notice the changes/improvements/new additions...but when I finally got to the Ship Builder screen...I just couldn't...I can't...I don't even...I just...nope.  *long defeated sigh*  xD

      EDIT:
Something I noticed ingame...there are no longer any Habs that have the 'Doors are not included!' indicator. Does this mean ALL the habs can be used with the Door/Shutters? (Doors/Ladders/Shutters show up fine, and I can select and place them. Nice.)
EDIT2: Scrap that, I just read that the hab clones with that 'Doors are not included' was done away with, with a previous mod update (v2.04)...I've been using PDY v1.2 all the way up to game update v1.10.32, which is why I wasn't aware, lol.

      UPDATE:
Working flawlessly! Nice fix, Skons!!  \o/

I haven't tested it yet. But I read a discussion that Bethesda changed the names of the geometric meshes (btw, the author of the Blender plugin, SesamaPaste, also disappeared). So the fix from Skons is almost certainly absolutely correct.
I need a couple of days to remember where I left off (and I was preparing a lot of changes), and I will post an update. Bethesda has also made some changes to their STBH, minor at first glance, but I'll have to take a closer look at it all.
For now I'll just stick this post.

P.S. If I don’t find any terrible problems (which you haven’t discovered in all this time, which would be very strange), then version 1 will be frozen. The reason is that I had a lot of changes in the models of doorways and new doors in my work so that it all would have a normal appearance, and there is still a lot that needs to be completed. Transferring all this to version 1 will take a lot of time and I don’t want to do it at all. So if anyone is still thinking about whether to install version 2, then do not hesitate to install it.

Seems to run into an infinite loading screen (it's actually 2-5 minutes and my loading screens are usually about 2-5 seconds) when using this mod. It can happen when entering or exiting a ship. It doesn't happen 100% of the time either.

I am using the PDY 2.0.6beta Fix made by Skons. I have over 200 hours in starfield and this is the first I've seen this bug and it started after installing this mod.

That said, the mod is amazing!

If you use a lot of ship building mods, even more so if you use ship building mods that have custom meshes, chances are you're experiencing a mod conflict. According to other posts I've read, 1.11.36 has broken a lot of mods that incorporate their own custom meshes into the game, and all those mods will need to be updated.

Hmm, as of the latest .36 update, your PDY 2.0.6beta caps have gone invisible (see below); they're still present, but no longer visible.
