As you can see from the image, all the uniforms except the one on the right have the same texture issue. I tried installing the mod in three different ways: manually, with Vortex, and from within the game using the built-in system. Does anyone have any solution?
"I install the mods using Vortex. In any case, I’ve only installed mods that add armor skins from the UC (using the in-game 'Creations' option, not from Nexus Mods), not actual uniforms — except for this mod, of course. Besides that, I have other mods like the Nomad Armor, so I don’t think anything is interfering. As for the load order, it’s the last one I downloaded. I also tried moving the mod higher up in the load order in Vortex, but it doesn't change anything. By the way, I noticed something really strange: the same uniform on my character has those ugly patches on it, while on some NPCs it doesn't
I see, well there is the problem and I can understand that that mod precedes this with all the different outfits. KryoZet, the developer of KZ Aggregation already posted below in this thread that he might look into it, maybe you can chime in and ask him as well for a small patch to his mod.
Therefore he would not need to change his main mod file and everyone that uses my mod as well can just load up the extra file. But as he states in his bio, he is currently not as responsive as he could be due to IRL issues. I wish him all the best.
Instruction for uninstalling? I'm playing this on Xbox and the texture glitches are too persistent. Is there any reliable way to uninstall this without having to restart my playthrough? I tested it to see what outfit the deimos salesman would have after uninstalling and he had random spacesuit on with the helmet instead of his regular UC uniform. So for now its still installed.
Hi there, as far as uninstalling on the Xbox goes, here is the info (straight outa ChatGPT) but it is very accurate (also can you show or tell me about the glitches please?):
🔄 1. Let the Cell Reset Naturally Bethesda games reset NPCs after 10+ in-game days, but only if you don’t enter the same area during that time. How to trigger this reset:
Sleep or wait for at least 10 in-game days.
Stay away from the area (city, base, planet) where the NPC is located during that time.
After 10+ days, fast travel back — the NPC might reset to default gear.
⚠️ If the mod altered the base outfit (i.e. it replaced their original clothes), they still may appear naked or broken after reset — because the game no longer knows what their default was. 🧽 3. Use a Reset Mod (If Available)Some Xbox mods allow you to reset or re-equip NPCs using in-game items or holotapes (like in Fallout) or holoprojectors (in Starfield). Look for:
NPC Outfit Reset or Inventory Cleaner mods.
Custom gear menu mods that let you assign gear in-world.
Search the Bethesda.net mod browser using keywords like:
outfit reset, inventory cleaner, npc tool, or debug
❌ What Won’t Work
Waiting a few minutes or fast-traveling around doesn’t fix it.
Killing and reviving the NPC often keeps their broken inventory unless they’re marked to respawn (many named NPCs aren’t).
There’s no “default clothing fallback” without mod intervention or cell reset.
✅ Summary for Xbox:MethodEffectivenessNotes Let me know which game this is for (Starfield, Skyrim, Fallout 4, etc.) — I can recommend specific Xbox-safe mods or techniques.
Thank you and aye, nothing much I can do atm, it changes crucial files I rely on in this mod. I will try to find a solution for possible future versions of this mod.
I assume it's the Outfit_UC_Navy_Officer_Uniform_Upperbody.Mat in question here. I've altered that and it should not change anything vanilla in my mod, but chances are it links to something still that bothers this mod as well. I'll check it out when I get to it 👍
I seem to have some sort of texture issue going on. I have tried re-installing it to include disabling all other mods and using a previous version to no avail.
Aye, can I presume you either stood before the vanguard officer while loading? If so, the game takes some ingame hours to replace the gear of npcs. Quick solution is to: - Wait in a place of your choosing (several hours of ingame time) - load a different save outside of Atlantis - Use the console to resurrect the NPC. This should fix this issue.
I just checked again and the textures are definitely inside the folder. (If you want to check, it is in Data\Textures\clothes\outfit_uc_navy_officer\Vanguard\outfit_uc_navy_officer_upperbody_color.dds)
I took some time to leave and came back after being gone and also slept a few hours. The uniforms now actually resemble a uniform but aside from the one that states Vanguard everyone has the same one. The General is wearing the fleet uniform the very same as the Admiral. Kind of peculiar really. On the bright side at least they resemble uniforms and it is an improvement on what they had been wearing.
Okay, that one is a "normal" game function, they revert back to the "default" captain here for you yes, without the several texture swaps cause they do not replace their gear.
It should be, that named characters will in fact not replace their gear, if they already spawned for you with the "wrong" default version, cause, rather than the other NPCs, they are not set to respawn/refresh. I was under the impression, they would swap out after the 72 hour reset of ingame cells but I guess not. Only way to make sure they swap the gear out is via console or going NG+ then...it will definitely replace their gear.
I could also give you a file that only forces those NPCs to reset and replace after some time.
As long as it is normal and expected game behavior. As I said they already look better than vanilla anyways. The mods itself is splendid and a definite improvement. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything I was doing wrong or if there was a bug occurring. I appreciate your prompt responses too and I hope to see more master pieces from you in the future!
I am currently having this exact same texture issue and the vast majority of the outfits from this mod resemble the same mish-mash of textures and patterns as in the OP's provided screenshot. No amount of waiting or loading fixed it on my end.
What other mods do you have, that change outfits? This is still not caused by the mod itself. Are you on Xbox or PC? On PC, Can you post your load order from users\yourusername\appdata\local\starfield\plugins.txt here please? On PC, can you resurrect the npc? Is it mid game or a fresh start? If mid game what happens if you do a fresh start (with another char or NG+) and go to MAST?
It's still the same on a new game, but it started during mid-game for me as well. This isn't just happening on NPCs but even on uniforms I equip as well. Only a select few don't have this texture issue, such as the Vanguard Officer Uniform, but stuff like the Sysdef Ensign Uniform has the issue.
You do have Starfield HD Overhaul loaded after all your texture mods (which is semi correct to load it close to the end but you should load other texture mods after that, if they also change vanilla clothing. Mods that edit vanilla textures will be having an issue, like mine, if they are not loaded after those mods. That is why some uniforms (the ones that are without any ingame variation) work and the other ones get overwritten by the replaced textures/shaders from Starfield HD, is my most prominent guess, even thought the author says he did not touch on clothing.
Try to move the UC_Reuniform mod all the way down the list below Starfield HD and try again, it might still be crippeled, so if this does not work, just try to disable some texture mods as well and see ingame (reload a NPC via resurrect in the console to make sure)
I moved it to the bottom and even disabled Starfield HD Overhaul and the textures DID change but are still "corrupted", just in a different pattern than before. I wish I could see what's conflicting with it/overwriting it. I'm not using other texture mods besides Starqueen for body textures and I have a few clothing mods which shouldn't touch vanilla textures... I think.
Alright, while this is not perfect it is at least progress.
After you have done that, have you tried to save a new game, close out of the game and reload it (to make sure, you start a cleaned out game without the mods still loaded)? Can you also upload a screenshot of the new pattern as well? It could lead me to more in depth analysis?
I fear you will have to try some of the other mods, that change shader/textures as well and see if when you disable them, something changes again. I know this is tedious but otherwise it is very hard to find the culprit. If you have found it, please tell me and I can check on my end what this other mod does, that interferes with the new textures.
I found the conflict, it was KZ Aggregation of Scraps weirdly enough. I'm not sure what specifically in it conflicts with it, especially and even when I load this mod last. But disabling the KZ clothing mod made the uniform textures appear correctly.
Great find, I wonder why this happens? While I see that the mod creator for that mod uses the original officer uniform and sexified and reshaped it, it should be additional and not a replacer, no? Either way, glad you found it and I will note this down for further analysis.
Cheers and now have fun actually playing the game!
Yeah the author mentioned in a reply to my comment on their mod that they "have some references to vanilla assets as well, and if somebody modifies them in their mod these thing might happen" so I feel like this might be the case here.
What's strange is that to experiment, I extracted the archives for both mods and ran loose files for them, and found no inherent conflicts in the files, they did not interact with one another in MO2. I haven't looked in xEdit or anything though as I don't currently have it set up or installed, to look for conflicts in references.
This mod is great and definitely an upgrade from what we got in the Vanilla game. I also have a request. If possible and if you have the time could you add a UC Marine Colonel uniform set to match ranks to the UC Navy Commander. This way there will be equal sets of uniforms for the Navy and Marines. I don't think Sysdef matters as it is somewhat of a sub branch. Also if you do this could you also update creations as that is what I am using this on. Cheers for this great mod.
Hey man, I LOVE this mod, thank you for making it, I’m playing on Xbox and was having the same issue a few mentioned here with the textures, managed to fix that now, but there’s the weird thing where whenever I talk to an NPC the camera is always down at the floor looking up, clipping through their character model. To get the textures working I saved, deleted, re downloaded & it worked, just now the camera thing, any idea or suggestions on what that could be or how to fix at all?
Cheers you like it, but no clue, I did not change "anything" else than clothing and (removed the essential flag from the UC Admiral, General and SysDef Ikande and Toft). Sure you do not use any other camera tweak mod? I do not get any problems like that with character interactions. I am fairly certain another mod is interfering with your camera position and did just now also activate (like the textures) at the same time as my mod?
So how did you edit UC empire? because I'm currently trying to add the Governor Plaque from that mod, onto the Mudtrooper Armour mod so that i can have a Officer's Spacesuit. and so far i can't even get Nifskope to open anything at all.
You need the correct nifscope version to work with the files. But to accomplish what you want, you do not need to go into nifscope but can just add the rank bar to the armor in the CK. It should be a seperate item in the AArmor list, that you can add as a attachment in the outfits column. I am not 100% sure since I edited the UC Empire mod a long time before already, but am fairly certain it was a seperate item, since that is what I have for my rank plates.
Yea I tried CK. the Rank plaque won't stay put it just floats around like its on cloth still. I did get Nifskope to work, but no one on youtube or otherwise has made any decent videos on how to edit.
I already was contacted by others with the same phenomenon on XBOX and it helped if you either save your game and restart it, or change your load order (this mod should load to the end of your list).

You have my many, many thanks, I'll keep an eye on your page to see if you figure anything out.

It is such a huge load of work to get it done like it is now and I do not intend to change it so drastically.
But I give everyone the permission to mod it further than it goes now and improve add up on this or just take the work and reuse it in their mods.

Any ideas what could be causing that?
